TIL Linda Hamilton is still alive. Not trying to be a prick, I legit thought she had passed away. Not sure why they waited so long to bring her back. This franchise has been going downhill since T2.

They offered her a role in T3 but she turned it down. I think she wasn't interested without Cameron's involvement.

What I'm saying is that her character still deserves some kind of conclusion. Just because she story doesn't need her anymore she shouldn't just blip out of existence. That's like The Two Towers theatrical cut where they don't actually show Saruman's death, he just kind of disappears from the story. Actually, it's worse than that because we can at least surmise what happened to him since the Towers are overrun.

Even T3 had a line about how she died of cancer.

I get what you are saying and let me end with this which is slightly off topic

I feel like the terminator universe suffers from the same problem as the Star Wars universe does..they feel so much smaller than they should. Now when you think about it 1 human(John Connor) is somehow is going help humans against a Genius Level Super AI is fucking laughable. Terminator 3 (very underrated) made the universe feel bigger and accomplished that by introducing lieutenants under Conor that help him do what he needs to do. It is so much more believable that there are other very key humans needed in winning the war.

Where I am going with this is not only is the Sarah arc finished they are once again making this universe so small with important characters that they could all fit in a room together.

I dont need to see Sarah Conor anymore. Having her in the movie instant makes it a rehash and I dont understand how people cant get that

If you wanna make a new terminator movie why not focus on NEW characters and NEW storylines.

I'm sorry for all the people who are excited about a 60 year old actress who has been out of work for 40 years and they think somehow she makes this turd franchise any better.

Arnold has been in 90% of the terminator movies and 50% of them are still awful.

Older, but he hasn't aged like milk.

+1 simply for the fucked up math.

Article: "Cameron is producing along with Skydance. And the new film, which will be distributed by Paramount with Fox handling it internationally, is based on a story crafted by Cameron. Cameron and Miller created a writers room to hammer out what is planned to be a trilogy that can stand as single movies or form an overarching story. David Goyer, whose credits include the Blade and Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, Charles Eglee, who created Dark Angel with Cameron, and Josh Friedman, who created the Terminator TV spinoff, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, were part of that room."

It's absolutely insulting that William Wisher wasn't included in the writers room. Seriously, what the fuck.

And David Goyer? That guy is a hack.

Interview from Linda back when T3 was coming out

Hamilton, meanwhile, was offered a part in T3 to reprise her role as Sarah Connor, but she declined. “I knew my character arc was so complete in the first two, and in the third one it was a negligible character,” she told MTV News. “She died halfway through and there was no time to mourn her. It was kind of disposable, so I said no thank you.”

Cameron about the same shit

Cameron, who wrote and directed the first two movies, opted out of participating in the third entry; he felt he had told the entire story he wanted to tell with these characters. Director Jonathan Mostow took over for Cameron.

Story is over

We are in cash grab territory now
That's a retarded take on it.
The storyline that they had written for her in T3 was limited, so she declined. In 2017, Cameron now has a story that involves her that makes sense. Who cares what he said 10 years ago? He has a new story now. He can't come up with new ideas in 10 years?

Cameron wasn't directly involved with the other movies, so if the story is starting from T2 then there is plenty of story left to tell. It's one of the few "reboots/revisits" that makes sense because T2 stops before the actual apocalyptic human/robot war begins.
And lol at caring about what the fuck Hamilton looks like. She's 60. She's going to look old. She was never hot. And her role in any past or future Terminator movie doesn't require her to be

Just make Hamiliton a Terminator and CGI her to look like her Prime self. Same as they did with Arnold in Salvation.;)

I literally only know her as the crazy, smoker from the Terminator movies. She looks fine in that pic, but still not my type. I never thought she was ugly though. Above average for sure tyere

Cameron being involved doesn't make it a good movie

It also doesn't erase peoples memories of the other movies

Like I said before he is adding new story on top of an already finished story. its impossible that it wont be shit

I just so happen to be watching tbe first terminator as I write this. Weird coincidence. Although I imagine (and have read) that things got weird after T2.

Indeed. Good thoughts on the size of the world.

But let me ask you this. . . Let's just think about this logically. Sarah is John's mother. Unless she's dead, why would John's mother not still be involved in her son's life?

Well she has already been absent for much of his life while being in a mental hospital

I dont think its a stretch that she got sent back there at some point

My T2 memory is not perfect so I dont remember if they ever explained if she was free or still being looked for by police

Sheeyit, on the site where people do backflips over Michelle Waterson Instagram crap, now they're even talking shit about 1980s Linda Hamilton.

Bunch of slack jawed f*****s around here.

I can't see John allowing that to happen.

The way I see it, now that they have finally connected, she and John are connected for life. She's his mother and she's also just as much a part of the resistance as he is, and she is the one who is responsible for shepherding him toward that destiny.

At the end of T2, he's still just a kid after all. He'll need her for a long time to come.
