Indie TERMINATOR 2D: No Fate (Multiplatform) **Halloween 2025

I couldn't tell what was grapevine re: price point and what was real so looked around.

It is actually confirmed 60 USD for standard and 120 USD for CE. That's...absurd. Know your customer, holy crap. Sorry, Cyberdyne T-800s. That's some bull.

American retailer GameStop, for example, already has the pricing up for Sony, MSFT, and Nintendo platforms.

Quick screengrab I took to show:

I remember Contra's return with Operation Galluga last year so I checked that out and, yep, Konami nailed it: 19.99 USD. Reasonable, IMO. 60? Lol.

Hope pub gets spanked on sales and learns their lesson; feel sorry for the devs.

Actually, Galuga is normally $39.99. It's half off at $19.99 right now, which is crazy.

Yeah, that's the expected price.

They gotta be getting some feedback already by now.

Ah, appreciate the correction. 40 USD, then. I’d love to see sales for Galluga at that price point (40) because T2 pub has data, I have to think, that supports such a figure as high as 60 USD.

I was surprised at the price. I’d figured it be $30 tops.

It is... look at my post right above yours. But that's digital. It's pretty common for these smaller indie games to charge more for physical. For example, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is 24.99 on digital but 39.99 physical

A movie based on a videogame that needs a videogame based on that movie.

Damn that delay is actually worse for me. Probably still be trying to platinum Ghost of Yotei and I'll also be playing Ninja Gaiden 4 which releases one week earlier.

T-1000 TS, I edited title for length and so dawgs can quick-see the new release date. Hope that's OK with you.

Is there a list of the best retro-style games for modern consoles?

I played Streets Of Rage 4 and thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is what I could find: - (the only one of these I've played is Mega Man 11. It was ok. Not my favorite Mega Man game)

Indie gems with retro aesthetics:
  • Shovel Knight: A critically acclaimed platformer with a classic 8-bit aesthetic, charming characters, and tight gameplay.
  • Blasphemous: A challenging action-platformer with a dark, gothic atmosphere inspired by Castlevania and Metroid.
  • Axiom Verge: A Metroidvania game with a unique, surreal world and a focus on exploration and upgrades.
  • Stardew Valley: A farming simulator in the style of Harvest Moon, with a large, engaging world to explore and customize.
  • Carrion: A reverse-horror game where you play as a blob-like monster, inspired by classic arcade titles.
  • FIST:Forged In Shadow Torch: A Metroidvania game with a unique steampunk-inspired world and a compelling story.

Modern Titles with Retro Inspirations:

  • Sonic Mania: A love letter to the classic Sonic games, featuring new levels, characters, and gameplay mechanics.
  • Mega Man 11: While not fully retro, it retains the classic Mega Man gameplay and challenging difficulty.
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night:A spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, with a similar exploration-based gameplay style.
  • Streets of Rage 4: A modern sequel to the classic beat 'em up series, with updated graphics and gameplay.
  • Evoland 1 & 2: Games that take you on a journey through the evolution of gaming, starting with 8-bit and moving to more modern styles.

Thank you for the list.
I checked out a few reviews of FIST and will be giving that a shot in the near future.

Only lame point is its 4 years old and still $30 on Xbox Marketplace.

If you like beat 'em ups, Fight'N Rage is another great one.

That list Adamant posted suggested Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but I would actually recommend the 8-bit style spinoff, Curse of the Moon. Really fun game in classic Castlevania style.
