International Tensions flared up at Justin Trudeau's Campaign stop Near Toronto

Of course they file taxes annually, we all have to, but you said :

This is income they are not disclosing on their returns. This is tax avoidance, wether you think they would get it back or not. Do you know if every tax avoiding ndper paid "their fair share" we could give every reserve Evian water and bring at least 7 Afghany Trannies over? Daddy Jag would not approve.

I am eye rolling pretty hard right now.

If you are worried about the $10 in taxes they would have claimed...get real.

We don't use our status card on every purchase, so really we are paying a lot more taxes than we should. Your argument is weak.

Trying to overtax the poor is a very conservative move.

I'm not making an argument, and I'm not worried at all about taxes you are or aren't paying.
I just find it funny how one of the war rooms staunchest left wingers who actively asks politicians to collect more and more tax dollars, encourages his own kids to evade taxes, no matter how big or small the sum.

They aren't avoiding taxes. They are a student and wouldn't be paying those taxes in the first place. They don't even pay taxes on their hourly pay. You're trying to suggest there is tax evasion on my end, but there isn't.

From each according to his ability, yo each according to his needs. As a socialist you should double up on your taxes so those not wanting to work can fuck around all day. I mean you have a job and a house so up it puppet.

You don't have to pay taxes on money if you'd get it back at the end of the year, tax avoidance isn't a crime, tax evasion is. There's a difference.

We do pay our fair share, what are you talking about?

Not fair enough if you have more than anyone else comrade.

Half busting your balls and half being serious dissing your socialist tendencies.

I see.

We do pay more taxes than most as per the tax bracket. Though it ends at 33%...which is silly as there are people who earn a lot more than the $215k it caps out at.

Personally, I would pursue a higher tax rate for corporations first.

I would try to figure out a way to rebuild our middle class. That would involve incentivizing bringing manufacturing home, running our own refineries (I understand you not being for this) and outsourcing as little as possible as well as closing tax loopholes for big money. Also, kick politicians right in the cock n balls if they want to send money overseas while those funds could be used to improve our communities, infrastructure, services, or anything else. We gotta quit bleeding money or our kids are going to be paying for it by being the new serf class, aka the working poor.

For fucks sakes my dad was making $25/hr at a union shop in 88 and while the cost of everything else doubled at the very minimum those rates sure as hell didn't keep up.

Yeah, if you are a career server.

My kid won't declare any for a summer job, they would get it all back anyway.
Career barista or restaurant server maybe will take that low of an amount.

A lot of part time college students work the liquor dome or alehouse or the lower deck in halifax. On busy ass nights, servers get $1 to $3 per drink they serve and the bartender working the main bar does too. It's not uncommon for them to take home $300 on a weekday or $700 on a weekend night in tips after splitting it with bouncers and the kitchen.

I knew several of the main bartenders at the dome in my drinking heyday 15 years ago. They made $50000 or more IN JUST TIPS every year working a near minimum wage job 4 nights a week lol. I don't know what they declared because they knew to shut the fuck up about it f anyone got nosy.

I don't even know what the average tip per drink is these days. $1 a drink was standard even for broke folks in 2009

I can definitely get behind making (and refining) stuff here for ourselves. It would have a smaller carbon footprint. I'm always lookng for ontario grown food at the grocery store first and stuff from China last. This whole outsourcing (importing) thing saves some money at the cashier but doesn't add any local work.

I worked in toronto bars a lot back in the day, so yeah I've seen the amount you can make.

I was bouncer and got tipped out. Sometimes when I worked at a clubby place people would hand me $50 to cut the line. Watched front door guys make hundreds a night doing that. (I usually worked at crusty bars .)

Appreciate the honesty. While I'm all for renewable energy I know you think much more drastic steps should be taken, so it's refreshing that someone more "green" than I acknowledges those facts. Shipping dino juice half way around the globe from counties with worse environmental protection protocols in place then we have here is one if the dumbest things environmentally conscious people advocate for. Truly counterproductive, nevermind we could set aside a portion of our oil taxes to put into research and implementation of renewables.

Imported junk might be cheaper, but also takes away from local earning and buying power. It's one of those vicious cycle things that doesn't benefit the average Canuck, but as with transitioning to green power the growing pains would be, well, a pain in the ass.

I think we probably agree on a lot of things but maybe just not on what's the best path forward.

NDP released their platform and costing today. Below are the new and improved taxes to pay for it all with no plan to balance the budget. Thee Liberals in Ontario thought Money wasn't an object either and chased tons of business out of ontario. They are non-party status now.

New revenue streams
Below are the revenue raising measures and the amounts the party projects each would bring in:

  • $60 billion through a 1% annual tax on households with wealth over $10 million.

  • $44 billion through raising the capital gains inclusion rate to 75% from 50% .

  • $25 billion through raising the corporate income tax rate to 18% from 15%. This would apply only to businesses that make more than $500,000 in profit.

  • $14 billion through an "excess profit tax" on companies that made large profits during the COVID-19 pandemic. This would apply to only some companies that make profit in excess of $10 million per year.

  • $12 billion through cracking down on tax havens. The Canada Revenue Agency would receive $100 million in extra funding to expand its capability to track down such funds.

The inclusion rate and the corporate rate hike would suck, but nothing earth shattering in any of this.
Lol at 100 million to CRA to go after tax havens, that money would vanish into litigation in the first day if they actually tried to go after people who have the means to use them.
The reality is that 100 million would help the CRA target even more low and middle class earners than they already do.

This idiot certainly deserved to be fired. Hopefully, he will also be charged.

Former People's Party of Canada riding president charged after gravel thrown at Trudeau

The 25-year-old of St. Thomas, Ont., allegedly threw the gravel at a Liberal Party campaign event in London on Sept. 6.

Several days after the event, a PPC spokesperson said Marshall had been fired from his position as president of the Elgin-Middlesex-London riding association. Martin Masse said in an email that Marshall's firing was due to allegations that he had thrown stones at Trudeau.

More taxes on the Canadian tax payers. The NDP plan?

"the budget will balance itself"

You can be sure NDP will try to push for more than a Carbon Tax.
