Pay close attention to when adults use the phrase "for your age" at the end of a sentence. You can just change that phrase to "not very" and put it just before the adjective in their sentence. Here, let me show you:

1. You are wise for your age.
2. You are not very wise.

1. You are smart for your age.
2. You are not very smart.

It's just adults trying to be polite and help you to not feel bad about yourself.
