Honda moves Civic production plans to Indiana from Mexico to avoid Trump’s tariffs: report

Don’t you people always say you’d pay more if you knew the people making it were better off? Surely that wasn’t virtue signaling horseshitThe issue is if would be significantly more expensive to manufacture in America. No problem if you don't mind paying higher prices for product.
Funny. They already have a plant in Indiana. They say 0 about building a new plant. It could just be they are rearranging what models are built where. This could just be Honda ensuring only their customers are hit with the increased manufacturing costs. Also a lot of the parts that go into their cars would still be hit with tariffs. So we are still screwed.Japan just announced they are pulling an entire Honda plant from Mexico and creating a new one in the U.S. due to the tariffs.

Or it is simply PR from Honda for people who won't look further into things because they sound good.

Yeah, fuck them people making shit I consume.I don't believe I've ever said that, no.
That’s bc they haven’t kicked in yet when he did it in his first term this among many other bad things happened,Between July 2018 and August 2019, for example, the Brookings Institution reported the U.S. announced tariffs on more than $550 billion in Chinese products, and China retaliated with tariffs on more than $185 billion on U.S. products. U.S. producers were doubly hit since numerous studies showed the U.S. companies primarily paid for the U.S. tariffs. He keeps announcing Tariffs but not following through on it. I mean he has a long history of saying shit and not doing it, like lowering egg prices. He fucks the stock market regularly, i bet the seniors who voted for him, are happy paying more for medicine and watching their retirement funds evaporate.
I find it funny that people think a dude that bankrupted not 1 but 2 casinos is some kind of financial genius.
I am glad Trump gets his blood thinners for free, because even he would not be able to afford them after he gets done fucking the economy. It is going so bad, GOP elected officials are starting too duck their town halls.
Steel Tarriffs could make 4,000 new jobs meanwhile the aluminum Tarriffs can destroy 100,000 . Yea big win there as well . LolTrump’s Tariffs Will Create Millions of Jobs

He wants headlines and especially leverage so that he can have an advantage in any future trade negotiations.Many/most of these companies making promises have no intention of fulfilling them. Trump knows this and is fine with it. He just wants headlines. His marks will never dig deeper. Remember the Wisconsin Foxconn investments Trump made a big deal of in 2018? Yeah…they never happened. There are more examples.

This post is really going to upset a lot of Trumpers on here . They aren’t even on here to talk facts they want to just use Trump rhetoric and they think it makes them look smart . LolWe had the lowest unemployment rates under Biden. Y’all keep acting like we have a shortage of jobs. The issue was prices were too high and tariffs are going to just inflame it.
I don't if I would used the word "crushed"; because it seems rather harsh but the mfg may feel some heat. We will have to wait and see. The increased cost of raw materials, components and parts will increase the price of many domestically manufactured goods. Why would the manufacturing sector be crushed?

Everything will get more expensive because tariffs will be paid by the consumer. I am not against tariffs in all cases. Just don't think the US should apply it to Canada and Mexico.
At least Democrats still have a party, the Republican party all submitted to Trump and its now a platform for him and him alone.
That's why the party of "free markets" suddenly became the party of "import substitution".
