Tarantino Goes Off on Paul Dano

I though Dano was absolutely perfect in TWBB. Tarantino's attack seems unwarranted and personal.

I thought he was amazingly good in Twin Peaks The Return, albeit for the small part he played.

There was an interview he did where he said he was only given his part of the script with no real context around it. It had to have been really difficult to play that part given all the crazy happenings his character was dealing with.

I sometimes forget Paul Dano was in The Girl Next Door with Emilie Hirsch.
That's his best movie to me still, lol

Qt has mentioned how significant the effect TWBB had on him, he was coming off his only true dud w Death proof a year prior...
And then 07 has both TWBB and No Country.

He's actually talked about how happy he was for PTA but also feels like the bar had been raised and felt compelled to rise to the level of TWBB w his next film

Tarantino didnt give his mom any of his money hahaha

He said she didnt support him at all when he was trying to make it as a director, so she dont get shit now that he's successful.

"Quentin Tarantino vowed as a child never to give his mother, Connie Zastoupil, money from his success after she belittled his writing dreams, telling him his "little writing career" was over. He's largely stuck to this vow, only helping her once with an IRS issue, while she's expressed pride and love for him despite the public revelation, calling it "salacious" media spin. Tarantino, worth millions, keeps his fortune separate from her due to her early lack of belief in his filmmaking, a promise made when he was around 12 years old"

I mean if you don't want your kid to be a writer I get it but belittling them when they are trying to go for it anyways is fucked up.

I'm fine with QT's cameos. He knows when to do them and when not to.

Like in Basterds, he would've been completely out of place and distracting to the film, so he did not do a cameo.

But in Django, he fit just fine, and added a bit of humor in the way he killed himself.
QT's cameo was the nazi soldier getting scalped by the Basterds shortly before the jewbear came in.

Whatever, im more offended that he included Midnight in Paris in his list of top ten movies since 2000. What the fuck.

I can certainly understand this having had a mom who was… shall we say, less than supportive in my formative years.

QT is wrong as fuck here because Dano went toe-to-toe w/ DDL in TWBB & never once got boxed out of any scene they shared, not even the iconic final scene (milkshake scene)
