Tank Abbott

Based on what?

Based on his general vibes. His mustache, his dickishness, etc. He looks like someone in the California Federal Prison system who is in the Aryan Brotherhood.

Not saying he is - just his vibe is.

if you just watched him in the ring you probably wouldn't, but there was a fair amount of gossip around him, thing he would say in interviews, to that effect, plus he used to post here and there's lots of stuff about him that did give that vibe.

Of course the biggest tell is his love of the WCW boyband 3-count ;)

Bear confirmed

I dont recall his exact level but it was not a weakness of his. .. He had to rely more on brute strength after his knee injury. But still good.

If I was to compare him with any modern fighters level I would say Rumble Johnson. So more than decent.

Someone with more insight can elaborate.
He wrestled at Long Beach State if I remember correctly and he was DAMN good

Edit

He then continued wrestling in college at Cypress College, where he was a CCCAA All-American.

It was real to him dammit!

Tank ran after the girlfriend abusing dude who talked smack and then beat him up. I think he picked him up and dumped him on the ground.

The judge deemed him a lunatic for that.

I would agree in the sense that Tank went about it that he took so much unneccesary risk, like a mad person. But running after him isnt really the nutty part to me.

What do you guys think?

Okay. You have programmed imbecile, self-loathing vibes.

Over and out.

That would be my bad. I meant literally a skinhead not the clique skinhead
Right. That rumor went around even in the 90s but was never proven. He also has no tats and is definitely built more like a ex-football player or wrestler who liked spending equal amounts of time in the gym and in bars. He also strikes me as a lone wolf, who hangs out with some guys (like Herrera) here and there, but doesn't fit in any kind of group or organization.

I'm talking about Tank circa, 1995, not the version 10 years later who mostly just fat.

Thats my impression too. It would be interesting to know why that is. He is certainly not an introvert.

Tank has a lot of views about human nature that are interesting, maybe he was too smart? Saw through people and didnt want to play along.

Big John Mcartney should have treated him better lol....

I LOVE that nobody corrects him on that. A podcast even thinks thats his name

Tank Abbott tells a Story about Paul Herrera and John McCartny

From what I remember hearing he used to run in a large entourage much like the Diaz brothers and would get in large group altercations. I believe one happened in Tokyo

it just shows how brainwashed you are. he might be just angry in ring not in real life and people like JJ who ARE NICE IN RIGHT but women beating piece of shit in ral life

No, I actually liked the photo but Im so used to him. I asked a woman and she said she got horrible vibes.

Actually, it goes the other way- he transferred from JC to state college. He was not a high-level wrestler at Long Beach state though. Being an All-American at JC is not the same level at all. Guys like Frye or Severn who were D1 All-Americans had big advantages over him on the ground. His wrestling was good enough to beat 80-90% of early UFC fighters but was not dominant against other fighters with high level wrestling skills; those guys always beat him.

Random thoughts: He was the first person in ufc history to score a ko with hands (standing) against Matua.

He had a rep in Huntington Beach long before the ufc for being a bully and beating people up.

He was nice enough when I met him. He used to drink all the time at my friend’s restaurant and expected free vodka and was kind of a pain in the ass.

I watched several Tank interviews from a few years ago with the idiot Hannibal. Tank seems to be in a better place , married to what looks to be an old stripper getting high and living in Arizona. His stories are comical where he basically beat everyone up and how everyone was scared of him and how he could part the seas because he was unstoppable. It was entertaining but after awhile the shtick does get tiresome.
