Not giving out the ippon is a crucial part of competitive judo, if you always take a fall because you are looking at a long term hobby, kudos for you, but in competitive judo you need to take those faceplants to avoid the ippon.

randori isn't shaia. in a tourney? sure i'll do everything i can to avoid the ippon. and this guy doesn't even compete! i've completed and placed. that's like engaging in kumi kata during uchikomis.
