I've pulled for Tecia quite a lot in the past (mind outta the gutter, ya scumbags.. but yes), but the time for making a run is gone, unfortunately. She has been one of the most solid "beats everyone she's supposed to and loses to everyone she's supposed to" fighters the UFC has ever seen, finding one rank and skill level and just sticking to it for years. And this return is going to be all about when that starts to dwindle for more people to pass her. Let's see if it starts with Ricci

She has been one of the most solid "beats everyone she's supposed to and loses to everyone she's supposed to" fighters the UFC has ever seen, finding one rank and skill level and just sticking to it for years.

Just went and checked it. The first round of strawweight rankings went out in December 2014

Tecia last fought in April of 2022

It's not unusual to see Rose and Carla still up there, as two fighters who have traded off championships (with 12 & 13 fights in that time, respectively). And it's not weird to see a top fighter like them stay still since they can't go any higher, but to not really go up or down that whole time with too much variance in 15 fights as Tecia did is incredible.

Compare that to the other 2 on there, Penne, who only fought 6 times, being removed from the rankings after losses, and suffering a huge USADA suspension in that time, or Hill who was removed from the company altogether, and had to go be Invicta champ and fight her way back into the UFC, who has managed to end up around the same place despite wild inconsistencies throughout her career (and the monster 23 fights she's had in that same time).
