T.J. Dillashaw shut down Cruz and his title shot

TJ's wife looks 15 years older than him.

The twitter commenter that said Cruz pressed the action...

“Dodson, Dodson... we’ve got Dodson over here.”

The BW needs the decisive battle between TJ and Cruz to determinate who’s the king of the division.

I want to see it very badly!

I also want to see Moraes given a title shot.

Grab another belt from an lesser opponent or fight a contender? Easy money... grab belt #2

Champs shouldnt get to call their title defenses. Hope it backfires and Moraes takes the belt.

TS Just a heads up, you accidentally wrote "shuts down" instead of "blatantly ducks." Should probably get that fixed.
Rofl. Like Cruz blatantly ducked giving TJ an immediate rematch? Cruz handpicked to fight the 5th ranked Bantamweight(Faber at the time) and then the 8th ranked Bantamweight(Garbrandt at the time) trying to extend his legacy by handpicking the fights he thought he could win without risk.

Cruz ended up paying for it when the 8th ranked guy beat him around, but he was still ducking Dillashaw. Sentiment at the time was a vehement insistence TJ deserved an immediate rematch(Just as much as people say MM deserves an instant rematch right now)

Common sentiment at the time was in favor of a Faber rubber match. It made sense as the biggest NAME match which was a draw and extremely winnable since Faber was now a shadow of his former self.

Sentiment at the time for Cody though? People were wondering WTF he was getting a title shot for already considering the killers row in front of him in the rankings that Cruz has been evading facing.

TJ griped for a long time about being denied a title shot despite arguably defeating Cruz. Dana White agreed TJ won that fight and should not have lost the belt. But Dana still let the decisionator handpick easier fights. TJ was financially rewarded for giving Cody an instant Rematch despite knocking his ass out last fight. He initially balked, but they made it worth his while and he said ok. If they want him to fight Cruz considering Cruz just came off a loss, they will probably have to make it financially rewarding.

I have to beat Cruz?

Well, lets count my loss as a win and we’re done! Yay!

What is up with these "champions" picking an choosing who they fight? Turning into boxing
Dom instead of giving TJ an instant rematch during a contested split decision, avoided all top contenders and handpicked a 6th ranked Faber, then an 8th ranked Cody, avoiding Lineker, Assuncao, Moraes, Rivera......Basically all the top contenders who emerged since he left in favor of lower ranked fighters.

lol nice diatribe. Too bad you don't need to rematch a guy you JUST BEAT. not like TJ was some long-reigning champion or something, just a short-term placeholder while Dom was injured. Funny, you'd think Dillashaw would want to avenge a loss to the guy who took his title from him last time and actually prove he's the best in the division. very very strange behavior..

Ill agree with not giving rematches to a guy you just beat if you agree, someone can't get a title shot when coming off a loss and then being on the shelf for 2 years. He needs to beat someone first.

sure, i could agree with that argument, but more important is why TJ is so dead set on not avenging that loss. you think he was so confident he would win and that the's the best BW he'd by dying to prove it and challenging Cruz himself instead of making excuses.

Cool theory that. And Why was Cruz, coming off a highly contested decision in which half the MMA world thought he lost so dead set on avoiding any and all top contenders in the 135 division? Choosing instead the 6th ranked and 8th ranked guys to fight instead of the stone killers of the top 5 with better records leading up to losing to the 8th ranked guy?

And I am a huge Cruz fan as well as a huge TJ fan and would watch that rematch any day of the week. It was an amazing spectacle the first time!

But for the 2nd straight time, TJ vehemently protests giving an immediate shot to someone who just lost BECAUSE OF HOW HE WAS TREATED when he just barely lost(and many think he won)

As a competitor I don’t understand why he would not want that rematch? Every great competitor wants another opportunity to avenge a loss like that. He seems content to feel like he got robbed so he doesn’t care.
He has a point that he was forced to climb back up the mountain after losing a split. Now Cruz should just walk into a shot after sitting out hurt, after he wouldn't give TJ the rematch?

LOL this.

Fuck Cruz, he can fight Faber for the 4th time or Cody again since he wanted those fights.

Because he's bitter that Dominick didn't give him an immediate rematch. TJ had to fight 2 KILLER top contenders in order to get back into the title picture.

Then when he beat Cody for the belt who was a champ with 0 defenses, Cody got an immediate title shot.

Now Cruz is going to get a title shot coming off a 2 year lay off and a one-sided loss to Cody, the guy TJ just smashed twice.

Why should TJ keep doing these guys favors and giving them shots at his belt when they wouldn't do the same for him? Why is it that when TJ loses the belt, he has to work his way back up and go through the gauntlet, but Cody and Cruz just get immediate title shots as soon as they lose the belt?

Fuck Dominick Cruz, let him fight Moraes and then Lineker or Rivera, and MAYBE then he might get a title shot.

@20 mins of below the belt bonus episode

"So, the one thing i have against Cruz is that he feels entitled. He feels entitled about this rematch. He hasnt been active. If he had been active, sure... you deserve the title match. But you wanna be sidelined for 2 years saying you are "injured" and then all of a sudden when im looking for a contender then its "im ready". He just want to pass murderers row. He doesnt want to challenge himself whatsoever. To me its a pussy move, like "oh im hurt, im hurt". Yeah sure, maybe you were hurt, but go out there and prove yourself, beat marlon moraes and lets do this dance.

He doesnt prove himself at all.. two years... he lost the belt, hasnt fought in two years, been sidelined and now just wants to pop up and be relevant and feels like he has this entitlemend. It has 0 sense to me. I have more finishes in the ufc than he has wins. Talk about who is the greatest of all time in this weight class...

He was very calm through the whole thing but got a bit jumpy when this subject came up. Also, seemed to me like he already had planned a list of things to say in order to dismiss this fight.

I sense a little bit of a snake below the grass this time. Not preparing for the attack but hiding completely this time.
<GSPWoah>

Lol at anyone in the UFC being scared of Dominick Cruz.

TJ won't fight Cruz for the same reason that McGregor won't fight Duffy.

Both are now irrelevant.

Let Cruz make himself relevant again with a win, and maybe the champ will give him a shot.

Actually he did NOT want to give Faber that fight at all. The UFC started hyping it up as soon as he beat TJ. He even had an interview with Faber dismissing him getting a shot. That 3rd fight was supposed to happen years earlier, they did TUF together and that is when Dom's injuries started. He and Faber had one of those trilogies that needed completion. And Cody was on a roll knocking people out. UFC was already hyping him up. TJ talks about that in a recent interview. They saw Cody as a future star.

He seems to be a very petty guy. And the Ego is starting to really blow him with his recent success.

This sums it up perfectly
