Sumo Citrus oranges

The weird appendage while off putting visually, actually makes it easier to peel by hand. Also, I first tried sumo oranges about 7 years ago and I remembered them being even better. The ones they sell at costco are quite a bit smaller than the ones I had before. Even though they’re not as god as I remembered they are still the perfect mix of sweet and tart and really an amazing treat.

I've had them but never heard them called that, dekopon is what I know them as.
They're pretty good

I purchased three the other day after reading this thread.

They were $3 each.
Yes they were really good, and easy to peel, but for the price I just can't justify
regular purchases.

I've read they have bred them to rarely produce seeds, so people can't grow them themselves. I read a post about a guy who bought several cases, and ended up with only 2 seeds, and only 1 germinated.

I've been wanting to try but can't justify the price so I opt for the cuties instead

The deal at Costco was way cheaper.
I don't see them there anymore and I probably won't be buying many $3 oranges at safeway.
