Watched it last night. My rating also. Many people say Will Smith was good, but honestly, I felt like they could have got any black dude to play his part and it would have been just as good.

My issue with him in this Movie , is its not Deadshot, it's Will Smith Dressed up as Deadshot , like Will Smith Dressed up as Agent J or Will Smith Jim West, whenever you see him in these big budget action flicks there is nothing that distinguishes his characters, it's fucking Will Smith.

- Finally the music was dumb. They tried so hard to be DCs Guardians of the Galaxy that they shoved in a bunch of old hit songs, but those didn't fit the mood, were too frequent and generally made the movie look corny and cheesy.

5/10

You're right about the music. And then they butchered the Eminem song, it pissed me off, they changed the pacing and rearranged or dropped certain lyrics

wtf

When you hear a song and you know it and it's different for no reason, it's hard on your head. You're singing it in your head but it's way different for no fuck reason

I'm burned out on superhero movies in general, and DC comics movies in particular. I won't watch any of them.

i think this may be a blessing in disguise, The movie execs will step aside and the producers will see that China doesn't give a shit anyways. Then they will do it properly and make the next one rated R, the way villains in batman should be "unchained"

Wishful thinking.

Doubtful as that will cut ticket sales. SS had a lot more budget than Deadpool (175 to 58) and thats problably not counting the reshoots and extra editing they did.

The only way they do it is if they do a smaller -more intimate film but they will not use Harley since she is big with teens and the the SS loses all their appeal.

Harley actually has a very interesting Origins story. She is integral in the SS, but i think she should have come later, and have her origins blend in with the jokers in a standalone batman film. These execs are so stupid. Good news is Geoff Johns didn't have all his hands in the honey pot when this film was made, so it can only get better.

So reading the headline (43.8 million on 2nd weekend) that's a what 70-90 million drop?

Dead on, pardon the semi-pun. Every time Deadshot was on screen I saw WIll Smith with a beard. I dunno, Leo can still make himself dissapear in a role and even Will somehow managed it in Concussion at least partially but here, not one bit.
Not that it matters, as everyones has already said, its sh+t.

43.8 is still just an estimate (the exact numbers won't be out until tomorrow), but the early estimates are usually fairly good. Last weekend it did $133.7mil, for a drop of $89.9mil, or -67.2%. This drop is significantly worse than the median for the genre and not a good showing (median is -59.4%).

Yikes so basically the same situation as BvS (really strong opening weekend, than a huge drop the next). Well hopefully with Geoff Johns overseeing DC Films, these disasters stop happening.

Fingers crossed. The strong openings show that there is very real interest in the DC properties but the notably poor longevity shows that the product up on the screen just aren't good enough. The WB leadership has been a clusterfuck for years and the company has so much riding on the financial success of these films that the execs aren't letting the creatives make the decisions, and it shows with disjointed final cuts. I really hope Geoff gets in there and acts as a buffer to help stop this kind of meddling...but who knows, he could end up being a big meddler himself.

what is this shit? an alternate reality version of the movie 'Focus'?

sure felt like it.

The reason will Smith fails as dead shot is the same reason Stallone failed as judge dredd. Ego interfered with the basic character. Neither should've been casted in those roles

His actions roles feel like he is phoning it in, films like Ali, Concussion and Pursuit of Happyness show me he is cable of better all around entries.

the movie needed more Batman and less lame ass cast. the female head general pissed me off the most.

465 million globally.

I think the North America drop has more to do with sausage party doing better than its expected.
I think that idea is sort of silly. Skwad's drop is completely in line with the performance of the two previous DCEU films. There's not going to be a huge overlap in audiences between a pg-13 comic book actioner and an r-rated raunchy animated comedy. Also, it's not like Party had a massive opener: we're talking about a $33.6mil weekend, which is the sort of number you see from a third weekend blockbuster. At most I'd think we're talking a percentage or two, but it didn't magically siphon off $10mil.

The film was rather disappointing but it's certainly not terrible. What stuck out the most to me was the shitty editing. Gotta wonder how much damage those reshoots did to the original cut.

Also the plot was kind of weak.

Killer Croc sucked.

Needed more Joker.

Meh.
