I just watched the movie.

this easily was the best movie this year, far surpass any movie this year.

the cast perform well, the plot was coherent, the character was very interesting and the whole entire movie was fun.

10/10, easily.

though i dont like how the enchantres's solider look like

again all these are my opinion.

Saw it today with the kids. This movie suffers from having too much to try and fit into its alloted time frame. As much as I enjoyed Leto's take on the Joker, he was ultimately a distraction to the flow of the movie. Viola was superb as Amanda Waller. Will Smith made me feel like I was watching Bad Boys. Robbie slipped into and out of her New Yawk accent far too much. She should've just played it straight with her voice. The other characters were meh as well. Although, I thoroughly enjoyed El Diablo. Any sequel better have him in it in a higher capacity.

While I was entertained, this movie did suffer from horrendous editing which killed the pace of the film. There was a shot at catching lightning in a bottle like Guardians did with this mix of characters, but the editors made it fall flat.

Honestly, Suicide Squad would have been a better Netflix series. 13 episodes would have given DC fans exactly what they wanted out of this movie. What you lose in star power would have been made up for with a great story that is properly fleshed out. I think Leto would have still done the Joker for Netflix. In fact a good majority of the team would have done a television series.

I am really tired, so some quick thoughts on the movie before sleepy time.

Too many characters

Margot Robbie was good. And hot.

Will Smith was good. No homo.

The Joker was completely pointless.

Enchantress may be the worst bad guy ever. (Maybe the elf from Thor 2).

Did Frank the Body Gibiatti ever get his comeuppance?

DC is now 0-2 for me. 0-3 if you count Man of Steel.

Frank the body, yesss.

Saw this tonight, was a little disappointed. 7/10 for me.

I forgot to post but Jai Courtney has much more charisma when speaking in his native tongue.

6/10. Not terrible, but definitely not great. I don't really know where to start, so I'm not going to bother with a review. Margot Robbie is hot though, so that was a plus.

SUICIDE SQUAD Wins 2nd Weekend But Drops 67% for $43.8 Million

David Ayer's much-debated Suicide Squad may have stayed No. 1 in its second outing, but the true hero of the late summer box-office barbeque was Sausage Party, which came in ahead of predictions to score the best opening for an R-rated comedy in at least a year with $33.6 million from 3,103 theaters.

Originality paid off big time for Sausage Party in a season otherwise dominated by a slew of sequels and remakes that have disappointed.

Overall, Suicide Squad claimed the weekend crown with $43.8 million from 4,255 theaters — a 67 percent drop from the $133.7 million collected last weekend. It's one of the biggest decline for a studio superhero movie, and for WarnerBros. and DC, it's deja vu all over again after Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice tumbled 69 percent earlier this year in its second weekend.

That doesn't mean Suicide Squad is a slouch. The movie has now earned $465.4 million worldwide, including $222.9 million domestically and $242.5 million overseas, where it earned another $58.7 million over the weekend from 62 markets.

Weekend Box Office: 'Sausage Party' Feasts on $33.6 Million; 'Pete's Dragon' Flounders with $21 Million

$43.8mil? That $54mil projection was definitely too high. This was my guess, and looks like I was pretty damn close:
The mean drop for a second weekend for comicbook films is a -58.5% with a STDev of 6.87%. This means 95% of the results should fall between -72.0% and -45.0%. With the $135mil opening that gives a range of weekend two of $37.8mil to $74.3mil and a median performance being $54.8mil.

I'll personally predict that it splits the difference between MoS and BvS's performances and ends up with a $44.8mil second weekend.
EDIT: So, since that "split the difference" prediction was so accurate I did a projection for the rest of the run using that average and came up with a final domestic total of $301mil. My first weekend prediction was for $290mil, so I'll just stick with that for now.

I think I guessed $45M for the second weekend.

That post is around here somewhere...

*looks around*

i guessed 40mill i believe - the weekend total went down just over 2 mill from the 1st weekends estimates so should be interesting to see where it finally ends up.

China doesn't have much interest in the movie. Read the reasons below:

i think this may be a blessing in disguise, The movie execs will step aside and the producers will see that China doesn't give a shit anyways. Then they will do it properly and make the next one rated R, the way villains in batman should be "unchained"

Wishful thinking.

They have the ability to do a good movie, the only gem is Diablo's dialogue. If they can do this kind of intimate scene with the group with everyone then it would fare better, and use each singular character theme for them to overcome. While at the same time making them retain their inner madness that makes them villains.

Keep in mind that 2mil difference was an error of just 1.5%. But these early numbers have certainly been way off before (so I shouldn't be gloating too early).

So I finally watched this movie and oh my is it a mess. I'll try to keep my thoughts short.

- The plot is terrible. There is no reason for this Suicide Squad to be dealing with the main bad guys in the movie. Where is the Flash/Batman? They are clearly part of the movie, why didn't they help? How is a loser with a boomerang and Harley with her bat considered an elite task force?

- Will smith was actually great. He wasn't much of a Deadshot as he was barely ever wearing his mask, but as a generally charismatic and cool guy Will nails it every time. Harley was also great even though I am not a fan of the character in general. These two carry the movie in my opinion.

- The Joker is TERRIBLE. If you thought he looked dumb with the tattoos wait till you see how he acts. There was even a scene where the Joker was purring like a cat and rubbing a guys face, which felt like I was watching a gay porno or something. But the most annoying part, is that he actually loves Harley? That is not how it's supposed to be. He should be using her and they totally missed the point of that relationship. Gay porno joker was by far the worst part of this.

- Finally the music was dumb. They tried so hard to be DCs Guardians of the Galaxy that they shoved in a bunch of old hit songs, but those didn't fit the mood, were too frequent and generally made the movie look corny and cheesy.

5/10

Watched it last night. My rating also. Many people say Will Smith was good, but honestly, I felt like they could have got any black dude to play his part and it would have been just as good.
