RLM pays zero attention to details? Are you even listening to what they're saying?

I would have to re watch the video from start to finish and I really don't want to and my memory of the movie is already fading, however. They did make some retarded remarks and I'm gonna paraphrase here

"Did the acid give her kung fu superpowers" - other than a few fancy moves all she does is pure fist fight and baseball bat the shit out of people/things. So...no superpowers needed. Also, comicbook Harley was a gymnast and movie Harley is introduced by doing some gymnastic moves on a prison clothing and the guard says she put 5 of his guys in the the hospital. So it's safe to say she's stronger than she looks and can take care of herself.

"archeologists don't break ancien shit" - If I remember correctly June Moon fell into the cave and upon impact released Enchantress who bonded with her. She didn't just go "oooh shiny old stuff, I wonder wat's inside" and toyed with it.

"why does Harley have a cell phone" - this caught me off guard too, but the Joker did blackmail that one guard like 2 scenes before and from reading the comments it's mentioned that during the scuffle with the guards the dirty one slips here the cell. I admit I missed it but it would make sense.

"he(Joker) has that scene where he makes the drug dealer have sex with his girlfriend(.....)was that a double cross?" - Joker does shit to get under your skin. Common was dead the second he looked at Harley, everything else was just a show for Joker's amusement.

"can we talk about the scene where Margot Robbie jumps in the vat of...horse semen(...)and then Joker waited(...)"- He makes her jump just for the hell of it basically wanting to get rid of her because it wasn't fun for him anymore. The second she jumps in it starts eating him up and he jumps back after her because he realizes his crazy ass cares for her.

They show you on screen when the guard gives Harley the phone. It's the same guard the Joker blackmails, same one that talks shit to Deadshot at the beginning of the film.

we are evil and disgusting but we are the lesser of two evils - suicide squad

suicide squad is basically hillary clinton's presidential campaign.

Yeah, I missed that part. Also, I think it was 2 different guards. The one that talked shit to Deadshot and got blackmailed by Joker

Naw, same guy. Same guy that Deadshot also pulled the gun on at the shooting range, same guy.

The scene is when Harley is getting the explosive implanted in her neck, iirc, he hands her the phone and says something along the lines of "your friend is coming for you"

It'll bomb just like Ghostbusters.
I think that there's two important differences between WW and GB. The first, and probably more important, is that WW is not a reboot/remake of a previous film. There's no beloved film for them to trample on with WW. GB1 is an icon of 80s films and when you mess with something like that people are going to be highly critical (and, in GB's case, that criticism seems to be well earned). WW doesn't have that sort of hurdle; the last live action adaption that's in the public awareness was in the 70s and was very cheesy. The WW film goes in a different direction and isn't really trying to siphon off any of that previous audience.

The second point is that WW has always been a feminist icon and has, since her inception, been a symbol of female empowerment. Now, you are free to dislike that aspect of the character (and it's very easy for it to be handled poorly, so I think it's a legitimate worry about the upcoming film), but it's not something that's being shoehorned in simply as a marketing gimmick like it was with GB.

HIS OTHER RIGHT.

Yeah I'm talking world wide numbers. The difference between X-Men: Apoc vs WW is, there was a lot of anticipation from DOFP. With Wonder Woman yeah she'll get the SJWs but it just depends on how many people still have a sour taste in their mouth from BvS.

The way I see it, WW will probably do 100 million opening weekend but the word of mouth is going to kill it. If it had the epic battles etc that it was originally going to have, I'd say it would have a better shot of going strong into the 2nd and possibly 3rd weekend of release.

The other problem I see is, in June of 2017, Wonder Woman comes out the same weekend as Bad Boys 3. In addition it has to go against the new Mummy movie, the new World War Z movie the following weekend. Then Kingsman 2, Cars 3, and Transformers the Last Knight also come out in June.

Many people thought she was one of the few good parts of BvS. But you're right in that BvS and SS haven't engendered a lot of trust in Warner Brother's ability to make a great film. I think a lot of its success is going to ride on simply: is it a good movie? Marketing will get butts in seats that first week, but after that it's all about if they pulled it off or not.

So, while I may concede that WW has some definite hurdles to overcome, you still put your "optimistic" threshold reallllllly low when you set that $300mil as the bottom of the range. For a major comic book film to not to make that much worldwide is actually pretty damn rare. Even your own prediction of a 100mil domestic opener results in a median worldwide result of $541mil. If you look at the charts at boxofficemojo you'll see that of every film to open with $80mil+ domestic, the lowest world-wide total was Wolverine Origins at $373mil. So you're predicting not just a failure, but a failure of historical proportions. In fact, of the 116 films to have a domestic opening greater than $65mil only two of them have failed to cross the $300mil world wide barrier: Austin Powers 3 and Pitch Perfect 2. They both opened below $75mil and both are comedies (historically that's a genre that doesn't do very well overseas). Honestly, I think you haven't actually looked into what a sub $300mil world-wide total looks like to be saying that's an optimistic figure.

Competition is always a real worry for summer releases. But I don't think many of those films you mention are going to be major contenders to eat into WW's total. Bad Boys 2 wasn't a very good film and Will Smith hasn't had a big solo hit in a while, Kingsman did mediocre business so the sequel's performance is questionable, Transformers has been on a sharp downward trajectory in the US over the last two films, Tom Cruise hasn't had a big hit outside the MI franchise in more than ten years, and Cars 3 has limited audience overlap.

the guard slipped it to her during transport from the prison to the plane. they couldn't have made it more obvious.

It may hit $4-500 mil internationally depending on how well it's marketed but looking back at the numbers, Man of Steel did $668 million worldwide and it took Batman, Superman AND Wonder Woman to hit the 800+ worldwide total. Wonder Woman will be popular but I would wager it's going to fall at least 100-150 million short of Man of Steel, putting it at the 500 million mark at best.

Competition for summer releases have always been hot yes but this hot? I forgot to mention the last couple of weeks of May sees Baywatch plus the latest POTC movie and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will probably still be in theaters through the 2nd weekend of WW's release. I'd say Will Smith's popularity will be fairly high from SS, and looking at IMDB it looks like he's got another couple movies on the way out before Bad Boys 3. Kingsman didn't have a great theatrical run but it grossed 400 million internationally without having any brand recognition and I expect the 2nd to do at least that much or better. Transformers did have a drop off of 107 million domestically from 3 to 4 but looking at the international box office numbers, each movie still grossed over 1 billion dollars. I think the Mummy will have a strong opening weekend just out of curiosity's sake, granted it could fall off sharply depending on how good/bad word of mouth is. World War Z was Brad Pitt's highest grossing movie ever and the hype for the sequel will obviously be ridiculous.

Cars 3, I could see the family audience being skeptical of Wonder Woman and going with the safe bet in Cars 3.

Bottom line is, I don't think a movie with a female superhero as the lead character is going to perform as well as the ones with the male counterparts do but I'm definitely hoping WW proves me wrong.
