Economy Study: Middle Class Is Over

I'm buying some of that data, but I'd like to know the number of kids per household in relation to reporting financial hardships. Guess what? Kids are really fucking expensive. If you have a household income of less than 150K, maybe it's not smart to have 4 kids. My office does these charity drives twice a year where they pick a couple of low income families each time, and it always appears to be the same story: single mother (or two parents but one can't work), 6 kids, live in a 2 bedroom apartment, car is on its last legs, etc. It's heartbreaking, but I always think "Why in the fuck do you have 6 kids??" Everyone at my office is at least middle class, if not upper, management are 1%ers. Guess how many have more than 3 kids? Fucking zero, because it's piss-poor planning. And the fucking wage gap shit again the article references...yea, because men make it to upper management positions by rolling in at 9 and leaving as soon as the clock strikes 5. Fuck that. Every single person - man or woman - who's even mid management works minimum 50 hours/week. That's going to be extremely challenging with 3 kids, and basically impossible with more than that.

I'm not insensitive to the fact that wages haven't gone up in proportion to the price of housing, services and consumer goods. Something should be done there. But the reality is that too many kids will hold you back, and it's not fair to the kids either. You don't need to have 4, 5 or 6 kids. 2 is plenty to sap all your energy and attention, and if you're really feeling up to it, go for 3. Anything above that, like I said, poor planning.

EDIT: then there's also the fact that there are too many of us already. We don't need more, we need less. If everyone could just understand that, our governments would be forced to take a good hard look at their systems that stop functioning properly once the population levels off - or god forbid - starts to decline.
It is tough when you have kids. I've got three. And you don't know how much it costs until you go through that stage in life. But despite the times of financial hardship, you've got to look at how God has entrusted you with raising them to know the truth about who they are, who God is and what he's done for us, and how raise them to be a man or a woman.

He never says anything other than rhetoric.

It’s a gimmick. No one can be this stupid.

Imagine a conference on economics and that Bozo stands up and says things like “Well our ancestors who came here by boat had it tough” Or “we all have good times, hard times and in between”

Who the fuck would even listen to him

The middle class need to get some buckets to catch all dat cash that will be trickling down any day now.

What do you mean.

This guy got a one time 1000 bonus after working with a company for 20 years.

That $50 bucks a year should shoot him into the 1% any day now

Struggle to sounds more like being able to make them.

If I struggled to make it up the stairs, I still made it up the stairs despite it being challenging.
What if someone could make is easier for you but instead cared only about capital?

Four in ten American struggle to pay for one of the following; food, housing, healthcare, utilities.

What about that don’t you understand?

Hasn’t each one of us at 1 time had that problem. It’s just something just about everyone goes through at some time

Life is a struggle. Too bad we can't ask our ancestors who crossed the Atlantic Ocean and built this fine country.

Exactly brother. These puzzies dont understand they have it better than the richest cavemen.

What the article suggests is that people are having a harder time getting out of these situations.

Sadly true. Especially if Newsom has his way.
Listen, if you are fortunate enough to have a decent gig, and you don’t want to pay Sweden taxes, you’d better tell your boss to tell his homies to pay decent wages... because the more cats are struggling, the higher the chance we comin’ for that cheddar.

Or get a marketable skill
If everyone had a marketable skill, guess what?

It wouldn’t be marketable.

It’s science.

That's the root of pretty much every societal problem.

In this case the damage is done to families that would otherwise raise kids very well. But then those kids grow up with poor parenting skills just because of absentee parents who had to work more and show up less for their kids. It's so tragic.

Nope. It will always happen. You go to school and work, it happens. You don’t go to school and get a low paying job, it happens. You get a good job but live outside your means, it happens

If you guys care so much then start helping anyone you know that is going through this

The “Middle Class” may officially be a thing of the past.

According to a study from the urban institute, in any given month, “4 in 10 American households now struggle to pay for housing, food, utilities, or healthcare.” 18% of Americans elected not to get medical treatment— such as getting prescriptions filled— because of costs. Perhaps most shocking, one in four American adults experienced food insecurity at some point in 2017.

The study surprised reasearcher who expected to find high level of struggle among the poor— but found that, in 2018 America, many Americans in the “middle class” income bracket are experiencing “material hardships.”

This is despite the economy being near “full employment.”

The spike in “material hardship” among the American population is blamed on costs of living— particularly healthcare and housing— increasing at a far greater rate than wages for many years.

It’s not working guys... the system just really isn’t fucking working anymore.

Why don't you read the article?

A crazy concept, I know.

I'm kind of surprised the researchers were surprised the middle-class struggles with health care costs, that is actually the demographic which largely doesn't have it. 'Murica provides free health care for its poorest citizens - there are 73 million on Medicaid (and 60% of them that are working age, non-disabled work) - it's the "middle class" which doesn't meet the financial cutoff for that gets dealt the blow there and many just decide to roll the dice without it considering what housing, utilities, food, and transportation will run you.
