Would like some intelligent discussion on this .

What do you guys think is the stronger more stacked division?

LW

There is no comparison.

WW easy. They weigh more and having bigger frames.

Lightweight. And what's even more amazing is that there are several top 10 LW's outside of the UFC.

LW and its really not even close. Anyone whose being objective and unbiased can see this is a fact.

welterweights walk around at roughly 200 pound and are therefore probably stronger

LW. It's deep internationally.

4 of the first 5 answers:
LW easy .

easily ww is this even a question wtf?

LW There is no comparison.

Lightweight still.

WW easy. They weigh more and having bigger frames.

that sure cleared that up. here's my analysis:

LW's top 5 is "any given Sunday". i might put Pettis in there too, although as we all know the Guida fight set him back a rung or 2. Cerrone is bad ass and Jim Miller is formidable.

WW has a clear #1 and #2-#9 are "any given Sunday". plus Askren.

i suppose WW, if you put a gun to my head. not that it matters much either way.

Welterweight has so many beasts in the UFC

GSP, Condit, Diaz, Hendricks, Kampmann, Koscheck, Fitch, Maia, E. Silva, Rory, Bj, Juggernaut, Siyar, Gunnar,

Lightweight is good in the UFC, but the only ones who stick out to me.

Ben Henderson, Nate Diaz, Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone & Gilbert Melendez (SF soon to be UFC)

Edgar dropped a weightclass, Maynard is alright, Guida dropped a weightclass, Jim Miller & Joe Lauzon are good, but inconsistent.

Outside of that, many of it's contenders have fallen.

So I'm gonna go w/ Welterweight.

I think WW.....sure as hell isn't MW......LW is better than all except for WW IMHO!

I think it's WW anymore. People always say LW, but not really. Some of the former top LW's have moved divisions in Penn and Florian.

The way I see it is to make UFC only rankings of guys I think are top 10.

WW:
GSP
Condit
Hendricks
Diaz
Fitch
Kampmann
Ellenberger
Koscheck
Rory
Penn?

Then you've got guys like Maia, DHK, Erick Silva, Alves, and Mike Pierce who have claims to being ranked but there's just better guys above. I left Sanchez out since he's switching classes. With strikeforce there will also be Marquardt and Tyron Woodley.

LW:
Bendo
Maynard
Diaz
Miller
Guida (dropping to 45)
Pettis
Cerrone
Lauzon

If you count Guida out, that leaves as rounding out the top 10 with...? Probably Dos Anjos, Guillard and...? TJ Grant? Nurmagomedov? Matt Wiman? Are any of those 3 guys REMOTELY on the level of guys like Rory, BJ Penn, even Maia or Mike Pierce? Maybe you can throw Josh Thomson in the mix, and Melendez when he comes over, but I don't see Pat Healy making an impact.

I have nothing to say cause sickplicity and blindead nailed it so I'll just make a list.

GSP
Condit
Diaz
Hendricks
Rory
Kampman
Maia
Fitch
Silva
Ellenberger
Koscheck
BJ
Gunnar
Pierce
Simpson
Hathaway
Hardy
Siyer
Thiago Alves
Paulo Thiago
Volkman
McGuire
Amir
Stun Gun
Marquardt
Woodley
Daley...

I know I'm forgetting some names but my point is
It's not even close.

WW has breadth and depth and they are all good, like real good.
LW worth mentioning are Edgar, Maynard, bendo, pettis, diaz, and cerrone. And I don't even think diaz and cerrone are championship material kinda of fighters, but WW can have anyone be a champ if GSP wasn't the boss.
