Strikeforce nostalgia

Yes but the situation with PRIDE wasnt about brand loyalty. UFC WAS the b-leagues when PRIDE was around. So when PRIDE was gone only shortly after the rise of the TUF GNUB.... They didnt want to care about something they didnt want to take the time to watch. They missed out,and just want to dismiss it the same way they dismiss K-1 and other japanese orgs. They dont want to hear about it or know about it,cos its easier that way.
I see what ur saying, but theres still people today that refuse to acknowledge any talent or orgs that aren’t UFC.

Yeah I guess so,its for the same reasons though. Its EASIER.

Pride was already gone pretty much by the time they got to do anything

Gone but never forgotten. The best production values ever and the Japanese crowd were great. You could hear a pin drop and they appreciated a good ground game when UFC 'just bleed' fans were booing even when two BJJ artists hit the ground. Plus yellow cards for stalling.

I dont mind yellow cards for stalling but DO disagree with it taking 10% deduction.

True, true. I can see a percentage for an intentional foul yellow card, but not just stalling.

I dont think they should do it. Not every ref makes the right call, and fighters already can get robbed half their money by dodgy judges. Once guys agree to fight and the bell rings, they should get their money.

Fair enough I guess. How often did the Pride judges f'k it up? I honestly don't remember if they were solid or not.

Well I am not saying they were bad or not,Im just saying in general I dont like the idea of money bein taken by fouls. It just gives the promotion more incentives to hand them out.

I do remember they would automatically take scoring away from a fighter if he was X amount of weight more than the opponent. I didn't entirely agree with that, but I don't remember it ever screwing a decision.

Plus there was no real accountability for these things. Not that its perfect now either, but still.

I've always thought there should be some kind of accountability. Like once a year have some kind of committee of fighters and industry professionals give judges a rank and if they score below X they lose their job. I know that's not a perfect solution and someone with less than a dozen drinks in them could come up with something probably better, but when it comes down to potentially losing 1/2 your income each year, you know the fighters would want a say.

Like the judge who scored Canelo vs Mayweather a draw or the guy who scored Usyk vs Joshua for Joshua, those people should never be allowed to judge ever again

Even Canelo agreed he lost basically in the post fight, and tbh Usyk shocked the hell out of me. I thought Joshua was going to be too big for him and admittedly I didn't really know much about Usyk. I'm an admitted casual fan of boxing.

Well this was the Usyk rematch. So its even more damning because we already seen Usyk beat that ass in the first one

I want to see a Usyk vs. Fury fight bad as I'm now a fan of both. (Loved Fury since his comeback)

I just hope they make it happen.
