Strength in Interesting Places

I am trying to find some, if I can't I'll get someone to take pictures of me demonstrating. In the meantime, I can give a bit a slightly better description.

YogaJournal.com?

I'm not yoga-savvy enough to identify by name anything that you've described, but I've heard good things about their pose list and sequence-builder.

Okay... that's it... You've inspired me to throw down a good yoga routine tonight.

The problem is that the last three postures in my sequence aren't real asanas, they are sort of easier versions that have some of the movement but not all it. 'Pre-yoga', as I think I said.

I will probably just get a friend to take some photos of me doing it. Might do it tomorrow.

Promise you won't be wearing yoga pants. That's a reasonable request, right?

I stand corrected, the final position in my sequence is basically a one-legged version of this:

Yoga Journal - Happy Baby Pose

The active leg is up, the other leg is still extended. And in my sequence you grab the foot firmly and try to pull the knee all the way down into the floor.

No pants it is then. :D

Seriously... I haven't quite figured out the pants configuration yet. But if I can't find something that lets me actually do the stretch while also preserving my modesty, then JA's stretching protocol will remain forever a mystery.

Gym shorts.

Or loin cloth.

I usually do yoga in swimming trunks- lyrca ones that are tight but go down to mid-thigh, a bit like what some of the more awesome MMA fighters wear. Loose fitting, non-stretchy stuff seems to have some give and then.... snap... no give, and either you can't move or the family jewels are crushed. They also don't fall down when you are doing handstands, have your leg in the air, etc. But a lot of people (especially N Americans) don't appreciate them (some kind of nation-wide insensitivity to awesomeness, I believe). So I may wear regular shorts over the swimming shorts.

The loin cloth... I have one yoga DVD (David Swenson's Ashtanga primary series video) where the instructor is wearing a painfully thin loincloth. They are pretty gross. I am not sure that I would want to wish that on anyone.

Right. Time to get away from the loin-cloth discussion.

I've noticed that my post's incidental placement as the top of the current page apparently comes with some obligation to kick of the eye-candy for the page. It has been edited to do so. If the aforementioned eye-candy is not of the desired quality or theme, please let me know and I will do my best to make ammends.

Thanks, I am fine- the attack was in Mazar-E-Sharif, which is in the north of the country, and usually considered one of the safest parts. It was on the compound of UNAMA, which is the official mission of the UN in Afghanistan. I work for a small consulting firm, so am not in a visible, symbolic location.

Shocking, though. As many as 10 internationals dead, including the mission head, and 2 beheaded. This Terry Jones and his friends are motherfuckers who deserve to go to hell. They are like people who bait and starve wolves, then throw them into a locked kindergarten. Then when the wolves kill and eat all the children, they say "see, we told you wolves were dangerous".

DAMN, may this doucher burn in hell.

Great edit, great eye-candy!

This log doesn't really have a theme for its eye-candy. Although I strongly support all of MIDMO's themes, I also believe that people should feel free to post hot women of all types and all themes here.

Although note that since you bagged the top of the page, you need to exercise your editing/eye-candy placement skills once more.

In addition to the tragic events in Mazar-E-Sharif yesterday, there has been an attack on the US base Camp Pheonix, and an atttack on the UK base Camp Souter, both in Kabul, this morning.

There may also be a demonstration about 'Pastor' Terry Jones Koran-burning at lunchtime. Although the vast majority of demonstrations here end peacefully- obviously they need to go over to the UK and learn from British students, or to France and learn from their Farmers.

Every now and then the Taliban/insurgents pull off a spectacular, synchronized attack on half a dozen targets at once, so we are all on the edge of our seats a bit.

That koran burning bastard needs to chill. While i DO think in a perfect world people should be allowed to burn whatever book they want due to personal freedom, this is just to provoke! And as a result the mob killed a 52 year old norwegian woman who served for the UN. Makes me so angry that she and the others are random victims while serving others!

She was Norways first female fighterpilot, and a liuitenant Colonel, true hero.

On a brighter note, glad you`re ok and have a good weekend Jaunty! :)
