Are you criticizing him for taking advantage of retarded opponents?I am actually a massive fan and have trained at a gym with guys he came up with back in the day.
Still doesn't change the fact that he actively put his face down on the canvas and presented the back of his head before kneeling in front of his opponent. He then wondered why he copped an illegal knee when the only reason it was illegal wa because he had one knee in contact with the ground. He made no attempt to be offensive or even to actually defend himself there from anything. You could argue for a TKO if Yan had thrown a series of punches instead of the knee. Sterling wasn't intelligently defending himself. A DQ was the correct call though, but it's no different to Vitor throwing a headkick at Jones in their fight to start of with Jones grounded.
Also this whole post is a big WTF
#1: "he actively put his face down on the canvas and presented the back of his head before kneeling in front of his opponent"

At no point does Sterling do what you just described. Yan has him in a headlock and forces Sterling down, then pushes his head down before throwing the illegal strike. What in the fuck were you watching?
2. "when the only reason it was illegal wa because he had one knee in contact with the ground"
Sterling is quite literally sitting on that leg, because Yan puts him in that position with the headlock and pressure. Also it doesn't matter why it was illegal lol
3. "He made no attempt to be offensive or even to actually defend himself there from anything"
Yan had him in a headlock leading to this position, which he was defending. Did you also want him to start winging strikes while doing so?
4. "You could argue for a TKO if Yan had thrown a series of punches instead of the knee"
You could argue my aunt would be my uncle if she had a penis too
5. "Sterling wasn't intelligently defending himself"
See #3
EDIT: here is the whole sequence so you can see how wrong you are
