Economy Stonks v11, the stonkening

I think he also wanted to make companies produce 20% new stocks and give them to democratic employee funds. What effect would that have had?

So if company ABC has 100 shares owned by different people, they'd make 25 (20% of 125) new shares so there are 125 stocks, and give them to a democratic employee fund.

Share dilution, 20% is huge. As someone pointed out already with the transaction tax it would crash the market.

How do you square away active trading with the fact that a broad market portfolio like the S&P 500 that you never touch outperforms even the best fund managers in the world? And anyone who does outperform it only does so with the odds of flipping a coin (like if 500 people flip a coin 10 times, 1 guy will get heads 10 times in a row)? The efficient market hypothesis has been beyond proven time after time, it's not even up for debate.
stop eating glue.
I don't understand why you think that's crazy? The efficient market hypothesis is taught on day 1 of every finance/ economics degree. It's on the first 5 pages of every macroeconomics textbook. Study after study confirms it.

because it's bullshit. you're just parroting a dumbass/fallacious generalization and pretending it's a universal truth.

ffs, you can't even fathom how forced dilution/transaction taxes would cripple the usa's stock market (and divert fucktons of cash to foreign markets).

'i know absolutely nothing about trading, let me teach you all about trading!'

(if i put all my money in spy, i'd have a LOT less money)

The EMH, and the greeks, are the basis of all modern financial theory. It's like disagreeing with doctors.

How do you guys trade? fundamentals, math/ modeling (like black. scholes type stuff and market correlations and the greeks and stuff), price action?

75 % of my portfolio is on ETF.
Ark innovation
Schwab REIT
Schwab Bonds
Schwab Dividend Equity
Schwab large cap growth
Schwab large cap value.

For the rest I tend to concentrate on trading 5 to 10 stocks. I sell puts and use wheel strategy on my stocks by selling calls if assigned. So it's a theta strategy. I buy options only on cheap stocks that have upward trend momentum for small profits.
I use Barchats stocks with 100% buy opinion list when it comes to looking for companies to trade.

rh says i'm up 79% in the last year. and i made a bunch of deposits when i transferred funds from other brokers into it this year, which skews the % (ie: it's actually higher).

please explain why i'd want to only be up 16%, instead.

lolz @ mentioning doctors, as if they're infallible and not often wrong. ffs, googling symptoms tends to yield more accurate results than actual doctors do.

Finance guys make tons of money if they work instead of teaching. So maybe it's a perfect case of those who can, do, those who can't, teach. It's self-selecting because anyone who could disprove the EMH could use their proof to make $$$ in the market, but if they published their proof then their "edge" would be traded away by the competition via the.. EMH. So anyone teaching about the EMH, by definition of the EMH, can't disprove the EMH. hahaha.

Fuck me my SKLZ play is now up almost 20%, it was only 6% around an hour ago lol. Get in the news is out. I loaded the wagon yesterday too. Party time.

Ah seemed weird it mooned so hard. May lock some gains here. Holding a cool 350 shares. But looking to trade this stock over the next couple of weeks.

Will be holding long term I like the stock.

They did pimp it as "SAME PEOPLE AS DRRRRFKRRNGS HURRR" so there's no telling what price people will blindly pay.

Well that could only be good news right?

I actually really like DKNG stock. I am a big fan and jealous of those holding the stock but I cannot justify buying at this price tag. I should have bought when it went back to 35-40 but I missed the boat. If it was to dip around 45 levels I would love to buy it.

It's good news in that there is definitely extra juice in the stock, it's just a matter of where that lands it.
I simply don't have any faith in something that lacks the fad branding on DKNG itself, but then again I'm the guy who bought that at like 15 and sold at 30.
