who wants to call a bottom? will we see outflows from long term treasuries before equities rebound? will we see positive consecutive news cycles about coronavirus? will we see a rebound in oil prices? what will be the leading indicators?

Why didn't you hop out b4 u lost so much? Writing was on the wall

1) You can't really do much with a ROTH IRA and TSP.

2) I don't trade with my brokerage account. I buy and hold. Everything will always go back up. I am a long term dividend investor.

there's nothing to fix.

it's just fearmongering. and people can keep selling, yes. not sure what your point is. you know the market can move in 2 directions or be flat, right?
Edit double

Def need monetary policy. Fiscal policy isn't the tool for this and robs us of our ability to stop a recession later down the road.
I'm in Japan and have lost a great deal of business. It'll take money to fix many of these problems imho

17 Charles Schwab
9 CVS

funniest thing about today was bitcoin getting killed. so much for a contrarian investment for people too smart to get into the market. tanked with everything else, because it's full of speculative pump and dump (like everything else).

Actually was thinking about buying some. But I noticed the same thing. Corona virus biggest casually might be Bitcoin. Bitcoin is basically a stock at this point with no real assets.

AT&T is what I have my eyes on as well. I’ve been buying like crazy, right now is a win for long term investment since it’s becoming more affordable by the day. We all know AT&T isn’t going anywhere, not in our lifetime at least.

Bitcoin has been getting slaughtered, although it did rally pretty hard a few days ago.

portfolio manager held a call today where i work and basically said the sky is falling, we will see another leg down if virus-gate goes on for more than another month and that we are headed for deflation. grain of salt but he was in full panic mode.

Looks like the federal government looking to intervene will lead to a small recovery tomorrow...maybe longer.

I STILL think prices are high and there will be nothing but bad news for a while. Yes I'm trying to time the bottom line an idiot...another 10% and id definitely be deploying at least half my cash.

Been buying some gold stocks. Gold price keeps going up and stock prices keep going down. I'm not even a believer in gold, but figured it's worth a gamble.

Wow. Oil just took a fat shit. Historic 20%+ crash into the low 30s.
I think we see a fairly fat bounce back off this once Russia announces cut, but in a deadcat fashion.

Total SA was suggested to me a few weeks ago. Didn't buy.

I'm 38 so I'm a long term investor through my Roth IRA. I was at $122,000 with about $80,000 cost over 12 - 15 years. I think cost basis is the term. I put the $5500 limit year after year. Pulled it a couple of days ago. Then bought back in and currently down $21,000. $12000 just today. I have $99,000 now. I'm not selling obviously as "stonks only go up". I actually have another $3000 in my savings account that I don't need to live on but I'm trying to get in at the bottom even though that is obviously unpredictable. I just don't think people stopped panicking yet and I want the lowest price possible.

I like these panic modes for my retirement since I got more money to invest and plenty of time. Life is good.

I tried to post a picture of my portfolio (sensitive info blocked out) but you can't here

Man, I would leave oil alone. Ben no profits in it for years and many players are using cash on hand to pay the dividend.

I dont like oil but if there was ever a time to spec a rebound, it's now vs anytime the last 2 years.
I caught a 25% bounce on a few small producer position EOD/After hours.

Also fucking LOL @ conman Elon Musk.

"we don't need a capital raise"
*raises capital at huge valuation 2 weeks later*
*stock crashes*
"omg Coronavirus is a JOKE" (his literal words)
*stock crashes more*
"The market was due for a correction"

Incredible conman. Why'd you raise at 20% up from here if you thought a correction was in? (Hint: The media made it seem like he bought shares, but he propped up 20 billion in shares with a 10 mil buy-in. The equivalent of spending $500 to prop up millions

Fools gold fucked me hard this past week.
Played it as a short proxy and would have made a bunch instead of losing a little.

What's annoying is that I knew the market was going to tank. I sold about $40k of stocks. Wish I sold more. Didn't know about things like TVIX until a few days ago.
