Stock Portfolios V2

I'm not buying VZ or T right now because I see limited growth with them. With my DGI investments I see them having some growth along with paying divs, even the slow growth huge companies, like XOM, CVX, PG, GE, etc.

In my 401k I go for aggressive growth. In my last 401k I was 50% small cap and 50% international. I don't know what my new 401k will have yet, but I'm interested in finding out.

Was looking into SAN, Banco Santander. Looks like a well run bank. Save that, instead of giving dividends for people who DRIP, they just issue new stock. And 80% of their holders DRIP, so that is about 4% of new stock, per year. Insane.

You ever drop Coke? I've been saying all year, Pepsi is going to beat them long term. KO seems unable to grow now. While Pepsi, just landed a deal in India to make breakfast for schoolkids. Worth $1B.

I dropped KO late last year, and then bought back in when it went low, and have gained $200 or so since with it. It's more of a bond substitute now.

KO's financial stats are better than PEP's. However, I'll be buying PEP at a later date to juts have both. Same reasons I'll buy K to go with GIS, why I have PG and KMB, etc.

Problem with KO, is that it is mostly soda and juice. While Pepsi has snacks, starbucks dist, and bigger brands in gatorade and Lipton.
But Yeah, I too own both or even all aspects in a sector. I own Nestle, UL, PG and KMB. Though I feel that Clorox is weak, so I don't own it.

KO now has stakes in coffee and energy drinks. It is becoming more varied and it wouldn't surprise me if they get into snacks soon. I don't think it is going to grow rapidly but it will grow especially their div (~8% annual increase target).

This is my current div portfolio:

MSFT
O
BP
PG
GE
JNJ
PM
CHD
MCD
KO
CVX
KMI
ABBV
HCP
GIS
KMB
COP
AAPL
UL
V
IBM
WSM
GSK
XOM

I also own VB and VEA in my rollover, and several funds in our 401ks. I wish our 401ks had a brokerage options, but alas neither of us work for very large firms so it's not cost effective.

True, but they are playing catchup. Which is why they haven't had any top line growth for a while. They really need to do some serious M&A here.
But Monster is now widely available here in Japan, it wasn't a few years ago.

Funny we have similar yet different portfolios here

You worried about McDonalds and Russia at all?

No not at all. 12 stores out of thousands? Seems like Russia is just wanting to punish American companies

Good to know about Monster because I am flying to Tokyo next Sunday

Well it may be a trend. 300 or so are being threatened. And yes, it is petty revenge.

Oh yeah, nice man. For work or for vacation? Try some of the Japanese energy drinks. They are awful. So you can see why Monster and RedBull and crashing the party here.

For work for about a week.

I doubt Russia will close all the McDs.

Cool, I'll PM you some stuff you should eat/try while here.

True, but they will put the screws to them any chance they get imho. Friggin pyschos over there now.

Would greatly appreciate it. I have Tue afternoon free after I arrive, and perhaps Wed night and Sat morning before I leave.

Well BP got screwed today. Perhaps deservedly so, but still screwed.

Yeah they did. They have the cash on hand to cover this?

For such a small company, Joy sure does get the attention. Not sure why people would sit on it. As the div isn't really worth waiting on.

Think with the Ebola scare, it may look like a good time to do an African ETF

Thank god for this Fappening thing and iCloud failure. Apple stocks dropped like 6%, just bought like $6K worth when iPhone6 comes out it's going to go back up again. Thanks stupid celebrities.

HAHA, nice timing. Yeah it has no impact on Apple's buiness imho. Good trade there!

I am buying VNM and AFK, a Vietnam and an African ETF. I think Afican is def on it's way up, for good this time. While Vietnam is like investing in China 10-15 years ago. I see a lot of growth from both here on out.

I might buy an emerging market ETF soon. I can't invest in my 401k for a year (rule may get changed soon) so I am going to open a Roth for my wife and do it there. Her 401k has excellent low cost choices and a good match.

Yeah just makes sense to. I have sslt a stock for India and ttm too.
Have idx etf for Indonesia.
You are looking at an easy 5% GDP growth per year in a lot of these places.

Mass, btw a great souvenir are Kit-kats. The Japanese have Green tea, blueberry cheesecake and other awesome flavors. Stock up on them, as people in the states love em.

I bought some trinkets today at the Tokyo Skytree. My wife can't have chocolates right now otherwise I'd buy kitkats.

Perhaps I'll buy them and freeze them until she's given the all clear. Good call, K
