* Stipe refusing to fight until contract is re-negotiated !

He needs to fully embrace STONE COLD STIPE!

DJ is a great example of this, what with the whole dillashaw situation

yep... win fights and you'll get respect, if you want money you have to become a better salesman, and if they're not prepared (or able) to do that then they should not complain because that's just what the job is

But Reem is not a better salesman, yet he's being paid better. Last PPV with Reem did Mighty Mouse numbers.

Probably afraid he's going to lose the belt to the real baddest man in the planet, Cain. I don't blame him. I would be too.

The UFC is horrible at promoting fighters. Unless they can shit talk. The UFC is just useless.

Dude from Ohio, who happens to moonlight as a Paramedic/firefighter. And he's knocking out the biggest names in the sport, in the FIRST fuckin round. One win away from a UFC record.

If you can't sell that. You're not very good at your fuckin job.

I agree 100% and I love that gif.

I don't make the rules dipshit, if the UFC doesn't want to renegotiate they don't have to, are you arguing this fact? Fuck these people get dumber by the moment.
You're not a smart person

Then stipe won't fight

Boom done.

It's called leverage look it up. Stipe is the baddest man on the planet and has the belt. You renegotiate or he doesn't fight

He wins

Normally I'll jump in this like Captain save a Stipe but you know what will pass on it this time, them dress pictures, them asking for boxing match and future meeting with my boy Cain all got me on stand by, will observe but won't take part.. but it's hard so many shitting on him who the fook sides with Dana in the first place. (ah stop it).

Yo at @Final Say step your game up you getting creamed in here.. time to call for a tactical voice of reason with plenty of research @g*r*b .. Stipe fans where the heck are you, the Champ needs you.
What you talkin bout? I've been in here

It's very simple

Stipe is the baddest man on the planet. Unbelievable streak. He has the belt.

You give him his money or he doesn't fight. The math is easy. He has the upper hand, it's not complicated.

so how exactly is overeem attracting PPVs - i just don't get the appeal

mods - please merge with the other thread of the same topic ! dammit.

"It definitely should change," Miocic said. "But the fact that [Overeem and JDS) made more money than me in my last fight was just kind of a slap in the face.
..............

Stipe made more than JDS in show money in their last fight - $600k vs $400k, both had no win bonuses. So why is he saying that he made less than JDS?

Speaking about "won't fight"....Stipe has said before, the minute that fighting "stops being fun," he's done. Which depending upon how he defines "fun" could mean he could step away any second, or stick around longer than is wise.

But he has brought up the hypothetical "what if I just quit right now" to his coach and his wife long before this issue cropped up, and said they're both OK with it. He tells the story about asking head coach Marinelli that, and that Marcus replied by shrugging "Eh, then we'll have more time to drink wine".

This could get ugly

Wouldn't be surprised if Dana put an interim belt on the line - Francis vs Cain

My opinion? Pay the man

He still makes close to a mill per fight he will fight he will get used to the money and local fame.

Unless my boy Cain really puts it to him. :D

he played the loyal dumb ufc servant who fights anyone and is now surprised, i like stipe a lot - but come on man, you need to fight / negotiate / hold out to get that money

That's the market value thing. That's why the UFC doesn't want fighters to know what anyone else is making. PPV cut, bonuses and whatnot. They publish the salaries which are roughly around the same ballpark for most fighters, and the rest gets handled behind closed doors. And fighters aren't stupid enough to tell each other how much bread they're making. You can offer the champ 5 million per fight and he's gonna be thrilled. Until he finds out that the 3rd ranked guy makes 6.5 million because, whatever, his "brand" or "legacy" (Crocop, Overeem etc.). Suddenly the guy wants at least 7 million. Everybody wants what they're worth compared to their peers. It's really just a mental thing. He was happy with 5 million but why should he accept that somebody who is not as good makes more money? Now he wants more money. Soon you'll have fighter shooting for Conor's contract. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Khabib beats Conor. And what happens with Conor's contract and promotion and his PPV % once he piles up some losses which is very realistic when you have guys like Khabib and Tony waiting to dethrone you. He probably moves down again to dominate the smaller guys in order to save his brand.
Lol they would make a division between featherweight and lightweight just so Conor fights the smaller opponents

I don't think Reem's ever been a major draw in the US

he was signed by the UFC and got a huge contract because of the hype behind him and he was already getting paid well by other orgs so they couldn't lowball him.. besides Fedor he was the biggest signing in MMA they could make at that time

then he decided not to re-sign before fighting out his contract and the last fight on that was when he TKO'd JDS who had only been beaten by Cain at the time in the Octagon, HW was in as bad a place as it is now arguably, Cain was plagued by injuries, Stipe hadn't emerged as the baddest man on the planet..they basically had Werdum who isn't a draw and JDS who just got beaten by Reem, couldn't let him go

plus with the fact Reem was always popular in Asia (albeit as Ubereem mostly) there was added incentive to keep him away from someone like Rizin

I don't think Overeem is any more of a draw than Stipe, but the circumstances around their contracts are different, if Reem hadn't TKO'd JDS on the final fight of his contract but had gotten starched he would have been earning probably 300K less at least than he currently does or would have probably gone to Bellator/Japan

Can't see WME renegotiating Stipe's contract AGAIN when they're cutting costs currently
