normally id say he’s too old, but it’s hw, so he’s got a fair decent shot.If Stipe comes back it's only for a payday. He isn't getting the belt back

People will always have negative stuff to say about Jones, but in regards to fighting, one of the only legitimate debates you could have is if he's the greatest or not.
This is quite the revisionist history lol.
Stipe’s performance in the 2nd fight was horrendous. I understand going against Ngannou is scary, but Stipe looked like a corpse in that fight.
Stipe then came back, utterly destroyed DC, then beat him again the rubber match.

Wrong idiot.
Stipe looked good, but Francis had clearly prepared massively.
The result wasn't a factor of how bad Stipe looked, but how well Francis had prepared.
Fine, but are you aware of Cormier's age during all of those fights ?
Cejudo was Champ Champ with back to back wins over P4P ranked guys in TJ and Mighty Mouse and he'd won 4 consecutive title fights.
Stipe got smoked is 2-2 in his last 4, I don't think he should walk into another title shot after choosing to sit out for years.
Let him fight a hungry contender like Pavlovich or Aspinall.
Are you aware of Stipe's? I know three years at that stage is as huge a difference for a small number as you can get outside of jailbait, but still Stipe was no spring chicken.
In their first fight, Cormier had 39 years old and Miocic 35 years old.
35 years is, for instance, the current age of Jon Jones. Do you imagine him still fighting at 39 years old ?
I don't...
Jones started fighting MMA at a lot earlier age than either Stipe or Cormier. Even with the several significant, er, let's say sabbaticals in his career, Jones has already had more fights than either of them. Him at 39 would be a heckuva lot older in cage age than them at the same calendar milestone.

Sadly, he looked useless against Ngannou, every punch that landed look like he questioned being there and each time he tried to take Ngannou down he effortlessly tossed him like a child. Those Cormier fights took a lot out of both of them.
