News Stipe lands full-time job with fire department

literally yes. don’t make insane money but it’s a solid $60K-$70K a year with benefits and government protection
Firefighters earn $250,000 per year in Los Angeles. Don't believe me? It's public information. You can comb through the database or just search by name and see their salaries.

Most also fake injury and go on disability before they are to retire, so they get an absurd pension.

That’s with a lot of overtime though

It’s a good job with excellent benefits and a pension. Words the ufc does their best to not have.

My mom actually called the fire department for that one time when I was about 5. They laughed and said ‘we don’t really do that’
Man, don't they, though ? I feel anxious for my cat now.
And good for Stipe. Kinda makes me think of an old school man's life choice

Most of what firedudes do is sit around in the firehouse on call. Sure there are chores, maintenance and the like but he can essentially get paid to work out in a free gym at the fire house.

It's not time with coaches since that could be interrupted but it seems like a good fit for a dude that fights 1x per year. Free training and a steady paycheck.

Plus, no offense to him, but he doesn't exactly have a speaking voice to get a job commenting.

War Stipe.

Good for him. It’s good to have something besides fighting.

Fire fighters bust it during emergencies.

But the pay structure they have is they work 24 hour shifts or longer. If there is no fire, they hang around, watch TV, sleep, or even train. Great job really. They have a lot of time off.
I should have chosen being a firefighter. Not amazing money, but great benefits, super early retirement (in my country). And you have a chill life.

Wow, always good to hear former UFC champs finally making it to the big time
Ha ha ha
Can you imagine one of the greatest (insert whatever sport) players having to work full time :)

No big deal. You only need to train once or twice a week to be in the UFC anyway.

wow I love this pic, saving it <3

At this point, in the greater Cleveland area, stipe only takes a job if he knows for sure they’ll play ball.

Guaranteed that he will build his own work schedule if and when he gets a fight scheduled.

Stipe is somebody around here.

What a fucking weird post.

The fire dept pays $700k/yr?

<DontBelieve1>
eventually, you make well over $100K, some around $200K with retirement, insurance, and plenty of time off, and don’t have to give over half your money to an agent, manager, and training camp. also, no repeated head trauma.
