It’s actually a lil funny how the memory of things works collectively. Jones wasn’t doing great things at light heavyweight before he retired. He came back and quickly subbed the worst grappler he’s ever fought, and now he’s invincible.

If stripe’s for real here there might be some big money to be made on this fight.

I think the obvious strategy is that Jon wants to take him down and hellbow to sub or death, and I can see that being effective. But stipe is not gane on the mat and if he hits Jon enough, the grappling advantage can swing.

Fuck it. I’m excited for this.

The best UFC HW ever. Prime Stipe lost to Struve lol. Sure all those wins you listed are impressive but he also lost to Jds, DC and Francis ( those last 2 badly ). Your L’s are part of your record and will have an impact on your goat eligibility.

Btw I like Stipe and I sincerely hope that he lands a hail mary on Jones to win. Would be glorious.

Francis dominated him in the second fight though. It wasn't just a flukey punch.

Francis got so much better between their first and second fights and I think Stipe knew he couldn't beat this improved version so he didn't push for a third fight.

I favor Jones but people are really writing him off and saying "he has no path to victory?" That's insane. He's got good wrestling and hands - more than capable of beating Jones.

How do you see that happening? Stipe is super hard to grapple, and hard to finish on the feet as well. Jones doesn't have much KO power.

I see a long boring fight going the distance.

I just imagine stipe is so injured, ring rusted, and shot. I could be underestimating him but the last time I saw him hit pads a year ago it wasn’t looking very good.

Although imo Jones is past his prime too, especially in the stand up. But not nearly as bad as Stipe. I think Jones is still a phenomenal grappler
