Still watching Spartacus on Netflix regularly...Appreciation/Wishful thinking thread

I have one major question from season 4. Decimation. If Tiberus had picked the white stone would Crassus have allowed him to be Decimated?

yes he would, crassus made it pretty clear
his son was the same as everyone else and wasnt willing to make
distinctions(problably because of the way he would look like to his troops)

Spartacus having to kill Varro is one of the most brutally intense scenes I've ever seen in a show.

Such an amazing show. Vikings is the only show like it right now which is why I love it as well.

Hated how it ended even though I knew it would end that way.

At the time I watched that episode I would agree, however his reaction to his Son's death and what he did to Kore crucifying her (I believe he did this to her because she revealed she killed him) leads me to believe he wouldn't have done it?

I see your point but at the time the athmosphere was intense in his troops
everybody was ready to turn on him in case something went bad and if
he had not done it at the time there is no way he would still have stayed in charge and
in the position he was in,it was something that he needed to do regardless of personal feelings

and it was a game of chance after all,if he stepped in and switched the rock or if he had someone do it for him things would have turned very ugly
he used his son in a way to also get respect from his troops

plus i think that throughout time he lost the interest he had in her and did start to see her more as a slave like he didnt before,he could not have also for the same reasons above let the women who killed his son live on

crassus was a men who believed in honour,he showed respect to spartacus at times and even to the gladiator that he ended up killing(aldo i am pretty sure the gladiator wasnt fighting 100 percent since he would know what would happen to him if he did,a destiny a lot of worse then death) but at the same time knew what he had to do due to the social position he was in,he made that very clear from the start

It is entertaining but as someone who loves Roman history, it isn't close to HBO's Rome.

Best characters:

1. Spartacus (Whitfield)
2. Ashur
3. Batiatus
4. Oenomaus
5. Glaber

A spinoff would be most welcome. I loved every episode of every season.

Word. I don't even rank Vikings because I only watched 4 or 5 episodes and just wasn't hooked. Seemed pretty meh to be honest.

Wish Rome got more seasons.

The 3rd season of Vikings is terrible, the first two were decent. Rome was quality,it's in my top 3 with Spartacus and The Wire.
