Still can't believe Forrest was the Champ

Lol all these years later, I still can't believe he held Gold. Great dude, fun fighter, but yet..
Was the division that weak at the time or did he leg kick his way to a title? I dont know. I haven't watched that fight with Rampage In a long time.

Definitely not weak

Rampage, Shogun, Hendo, Chuck, Rashad, Machida, W. Silva, Lil Nog, Vitor, Rich Franklin, Keith Jardine, and Thiago Silva were all over the rankings from 2007-2009

Forrest interview lol, on the one hand you don't like the honesty cause you can see it as weak but on the other hand you respect the honesty if its just his way of honoring good fighters you respect his intent. But, its a mix of the good and bad. I do think Forrest is one of the coolest dudes in MMA with a good natured free kind of spirit. Allot of MMA fighters get too serious so they end up not liking their job. There is so much more, fans don't consider what fighters go though which the mental aspect is one of them. Too many fans over look that side we don't see or talk as much about. Forrest deals with problems by joking about it....its clear as night and day for me when looking at his history. People can learn from that, in their personal life too.. Most problems can be cured by joking about it instead of getting mad. Its the best type of comeback too...you can make fun of the situation instead of attacking the person. When your laughing no one can control you emotionally....That comedian who just passed away, Norm McDonald is a perfect example of seeing the humor in everything in life...that guy seem common but he was actually very highly intelligent....I remember when he did the "Who wants to be a Millionaire." ...He was very sharp at answering the questions......his process of elimination intelligently logical.....he would guess that right answers but was not sure.....I think he won it all or stopped because he wanted to donate the money. However, that was when I knew how intelligent he really was cause I never seen anyone else that good on the show. Maybe joking increases IQ or makes you look like you do.
He always seemed like he was having a good time in the cage . I don't remember ever seeing him like nervous
As far as the emotional stuff goes like running out the cage, some guys take this shit to next level emotionally at the highest level. I can't imagine the pressure hie must have felt as the constant underdog

Everyone was sure that Rampage was going to blast him into Bolivian.
Rampage complained about the leg kicks, post fight that's why I mentioned it in the op. Rampage was never the same after that imo

J
Very akward style that sometimes worked. He looked alot more fierce than his actual fighting, which is why I think the UFC didnt cut him after long losing streaks, and why he pops up on tv and movies as thug # 2. Good for him lol
He is scary looking and weird. He has a Devil face and I don't like that devil shit.
Lol

I did
I didn't know shit about fuck about no Pride, as I was stalking blockbuster for UFC tapes . So naturally when rampage , wand, cro cop, shogun came over, I was convinced that teh UFC ruled lol

Didn’t he have a broken jaw? So he couldn’t talk anyways and was probably in a crazy amount of pain as his adrenaline was coming down.

Opportunist. Shogun gassed after a minute. Can't remember, maybe Shogun just got off surgery and didn't do much cardio. Forest legitimately beat Rampage though. I would've given a second fight to rampage. Rampage underestimated Forrest and he had coach problems at the time.

Also, check out the second fight with Shogun and see the difference.
That is Shogun's problem, not Forrest's. TS wanted to know if Forrest deserved it. He did.

This is the worst the division has been in recent memory.

For the most part The fighters Are all forgettable compared to the golden era of the LHW division.
There are some outliers of course.
I’ll take 2007-2012 over this era any day of the week.

Name recognition is one thing but saying they’re better is another. I can’t see the Griffins, Jardines, Shoguns, Little Nogs etc faring well against the Nemkovs, Jiri’s, Rakic’s........ the Bader’s, Jan’s, Reyes, Volkan’s and Davis’s would be tough.

It was at its best when Jones, DC and Rumble were the top 3 and at their best: They would absolutely murder any UFC or PRIDE LHW roster at any point in time at their best. Chuck, Randy, Tito........ Wandy, Arona, Hendo....... Wandy, Shogun, Rampage........ Rampage, Griffin, Rashad........ Machida, Shogun, Glover etc etc

Perfect storm. He trounced Shogun and he exploited a big weakness in Rampage. Pride nuthuggers were going nuts when it happened. I was one of them. Then someone invented prime and it is a new clusterfuck now
