Movies Steven Seagal performing jumping spinning heel kicks.

Steven Seagal deserves credit for one thing. He is the reason Jason DeLucia became a MMA fighter.
Never heard this. How?

For all the shit we hang on him, his early movies were quite entertaining at the time. Beyond Under Seige I stopped following.

First acting role ever, lead role... How many people can say that?

Gene LeBell incident

Stuntman Steven Lambert, who was also Seagal’s part-time bodyguard, stated he was present and said that a confrontation did happen. According to Lambert, Seagal explained to LeBell that he did not believe his choke hold was effective, and that he could escape from it. LeBell demonstrated the choke hold by putting it on Seagal. Without locking the hold, Seagal side stepped and swung his forearm backwards into his crotch. LeBell came off the floor by a few feet.

Im more surprised he allowed himself to star in a movie with Belly in the title.

Many years ago, a Sherdog writer (possibly Jason Probst), profiled Jason DeLucia.
Again, the story went that Steve Seagal issued an "open challenge" in "Black Belt" magazine.
DeLucia and a friend drove from Massachusetts to California for the former to accept the challenge.
Per the article, Seagal was not at the dojo when DeLucia first went there. Another instructor offered to fight, but DeLucia declined.
After going there a few times with Seagal not there, DeLucia gave up, and then later found out about the "Gracie Challenge".
He spoke with Rorion, tested himself in the challenge, lost, and realized that his TMA was not enough. He later trained in BJJ, and became a MMA fighter.

Ah ok. I've seen those matches with Delucia on youtube in Gracie jiu jitsu in action.
Humbling moments for a lot of martial artists

There’s a YouTube channel that is dedicated to roasting his movies. It is hilarious.

And you have that clown Viking Samurai who also spends time defending him. He would post here back in the day and I called him out some poster who was also defending SS and I said “You sound like that douchebag Viking Samurai” and he got pissed off. So, I’m sure it was him. Ahh, good times.

I know he’s a fraud and a creep. Don’t care. Still loved his old movies. Only those with 3 words though.

Marked for Death
