STARFIELD discussion

Man, is everyone at constellation an extreme goody two shoes? Well Walter is the exception is looks like, but the party members I've had with me give no quarter.

Thanks guys

I finally starting messing around with ship upgrades and building, as I ran into some tough enemies my basic ship couldn't handle. I wound up just upgrading weapons and the reactor, then I got two good ships a few hours later.

You get one for the Mantis questline @Slobodan mentions (I didn't realize I had the Outpost message in my inventory) and one for finishing the Free Star Alliance faction questline (both are OP this early). You also get some cool space suits and clothing. I'm now an official ranger lol

The Free Star ship, after messing the colours, reminds me of the Thunderbirds

Almost everyone is looking at Walter here, but I was distracted...

btw, Cowboy guy's voice actor is none other than badass Adam Jensen. I hope new Deus Ex with him is in the mix!

I could not stand Sam (cowboy guy) lol got annoyed that he had to be in my party during some points of the game

It was good! I did play an unarmed run so I didn’t experience gunplay. I would recommend doing the main quest first

everything in the universe resets except your character so you keep the levels and perks. You lose your items but gain others and you start at the beginning landing on new Atlantis and starting over

hopefully I find some fun quest to do. Going to mess around with building a ship later and maybe try an outpost

So what is this "new game+ is where the game REALLY starts" meme coming from?

I’ve read “new things open up” but I haven’t noticed anything yet. But again I didn’t touch the side quest in my first play through so we will see

I heard this game was a let down, is it true friends of the Sher? I have not played

Most here seem to be enjoying it. If you are expecting it to change gaming forever or reinvent the wheel, then yeah, you will ve disappointed. But it sounds like if you enjoy Sci fi with a big open world type of gameplay, it'll be right up your alley.

Also seems quite a but less buggy than pretty much all previous Bethesda releases

Yeah, his character sucks, the voice actor deserved so much better

I remember him saying to me at the end of his forced quest on Akila that if I wanted him back, he and his "daughter" come as a package, take it or leave it kind of thing.

Thanks for the warning bud lol, I leave him at tje lodge.

I just did some quest with the Russian-like constellation member I just met. She comes across like some outsider badass at first. However, when some young guy, who's basically an espionage patsy of two megalomaniacs, stole something and was lying near death with a gunshot wound (Neon quest for walter) she was frothing at the mouth for him to be arrested.

I'm trying to get along with her and Sarah so I can bang one or both of them, but I'm not feeling too good about myself lol

I appreciate them trying to make their companions better/more fleshed out, but this is not their strong point. If I do anotjer playthrough, I'm def picking introvert and going solo.

Maaaaaan, somehow I wound up with a quest to take out some Pirates that are WAY above me in level. Even with the Bounty Hunter helping me and the security bot I found inside the building Im getting my ass handed to me. Im too far in to quit, tho.

i was having the weirdest time trying to modify my ship and add some more cargo storage last night. its all new to me and i eventually just gave up on it.

then i came across this video when i was trying to figure out how to add a weapons workbench to my ship and it was actually pretty helpful and straight to the point.

now ive got my ship done up a little better and added a bunch more storage. if it wasnt for this youtube short video i would have just gaven up on for a while, but i quickly noticed where i should be putting those types of cargo boxes. i never even noticed them on my ship before when i was screwing around with it.

im still in the noob phase. its gonna be a while before i can really even start crafting decent weapon mods and shit. but at least now i know what i should be doing in order to get there anyways.

I need to watch that, thanks, my biggest complaint with the game so far is that ui is extremely unintuitive. I haven’t even bothered with base building or buying new ships, I’m not even sure what the point of doing them is, I keep thinking eventually I’ll find a mission where I’ll be required or have a reason to but so far no luck. I had to google how to even assign weapons to the quick swap grid. It’s not complicated and I’m sure if I really messed around in the menus long enough I’d have figured it out but I think this kind of stuff is going to be frustrating for many. Can’t wait to get home and start messing with my ship though!

you probably wont want be doing any base building until later in the game. it takes a shit load of resources and stuff. but you can build your settlements by dropping an outpost beacon on to an area of a planet you like, just by pulling up the scanner and hitting the add outpost beacon. then you can work from there. at least thats how it seemed to go for me.

so i decided to buy the game, as i dunno how often the not-so-legitimate sites and crackers are gonna update their shit, and this games probably gonna get alot of patches and updates dropping. plus ive been enjoying it anyways and it runs pretty good for me so i dont mind paying for it.

so i copied my save and config files to a different location and deleted the game, now i bought it off steam and im preloading now. hoping that all i have to do is move those files back and ill be able to pick up where i left off

i still have a few weeks of game pass ultimate left after my 3 year top up for $1 is set to expire (best dollar i've ever spent!) but i decided to get the steam version because i'll probably want to get into modding the game sometime down the road, and the mods are not going to play nicely with the windows store edition of the game.

I didn't realise it was coming to Gamepass!

Thanks for this. The shipbuilding in this game is super fucking confusing. I kept seeing people upgrade their cargo and other systems, but I could only see a few of the systems. Getting the other tabs in shipbuilder mode was ridiculous.

i havent even really touched on the ship building aspect of this. apparently its really good though after a while when you start to know what you are doing and put points into stuff.

i would feel lost, but now i know you can press the left and right dpad on certain objects on the place secttion it will change it on things you want to build like turning a module into a workshop with crafting benches and stuff. i might not have ever found that out on my own because the building aspect isnt really intuitive and it doesnt really tell you all the things you need to know. i havent even tried the settlement building stuff yet and its probably gonna be the same kind of deal.

just finished character creation. i already know there’s gonna be losers fuming about a pronoun option <Lmaoo> gotta say though, frame rate is pretty shit

Can the ship builder make a flying saucer?

Worked from home today with a sick kid and had a good chunk of time after work. Finished up the Freestar Ranger quest line and unlocked the Star Eagle. This thing is fucking beastly with no upgrades and such a huge upgrade over the starter ship, t's crazy. Can't wait to take this thing into combat and crush some spacers.
