STARFIELD discussion

Fextralife gives it a 9.4 and he is one of my preferred reviewers because of the quality of games the channel focuses on. Guess I’m gonna go ahead and pre-install it. I’m thinking that I’m gonna go the hardass space cowboy route haha.

Fextralife is a shit hole.

Man these reviews scores are all over the place. IGN and Gamespot both gave it a 7/10. Meanwhile, my favourite YouTuber game reviewer seems to have loved it

Meh, Fuck IGN. If they give it a 1 or a 10 it’ll still be for all the wrong reasons.

Too many water planets/not enough water planets!

I guess I'm going to have to play it myself and come to my own conclusions. Even if it is FO in space and a solid 8/10, I'm more than okay with that. I never got the notion that this was going to save the XSX console or however its being looked at. I just know I love both Fallout and Skyrim and if it's anything like that, I'll enjoy it.

Sure, sometimes. Sometimes theyre worse and sometimes theyre pretty much on par.

Also, this isnt a sequel. If people want to crticise a game for averaging 87, when most of the scores are in the 9-10 range, I have no idea what to say. Some awesome games that are near universally loved have scores around that or even lower. This is the same thing as every other Bethesda release. A great game that a minority of people want to sum up only as its flaws.
Fallout New Vegas remains my favorite western RPG of all time.. and it got 84% at launch.

Oh man, I'll probably end up playing this until December when my game pass sub ends and trading my XSX in towards a PSVR2.

I hope it's good! I have been finding it increasingly difficult to play big RPGs due to work, training/competing, marriage, etc. and the modern ones are best enjoyed in long sessions imo. May end up just taking time off of work to play this a bit.

Yea to me Fallout NV is their best game by far. I loved everything about it. If I can just get something close to that I'll be good.

FONV is my favorite is as well. One thing I'm stoked for in Starfield is the mod community. I know they'll cook up some awesome stuff in the coming months.

Why?

I prefer Soulslike and CRPGs so I dig them. And they make good build guides.
Pretty recent controversies. They were busted botting their twitch channel to simulate viewership and using bots to downvote posts other competitors on Reddit. Boosting your numbers is one thing but by doing that they’re effectively stealing views from smaller streamers by staying at the top of twitch’s lists.

I think every Souls gamer has used them extensively but they’re participating in some bullshit practices right now.

Yea that's why I'm placing this on the back burner for as long as I can. I'm in the middle of BG3 and taking my time so I should be able to hold off for a bit longer but after that I don't know if I'll be able to hold off any longer.

I remember just a few days ago the complaint was that procedrually generated planets wouldnt have enough interesting things to do. Now we see complaints that theres always something interesting when you land.

You will see it when you play it.

As stated by others, review scores aren't the final verdict. But typically corrupt review sites giving such mediocre reviews isn't a positive sign.

I think thats literally the lowest score it has. Theres more 9's and 10's. Dont you usually argue that IGN isnt trustworthy?

Like, if IGN gave it a 10, wouldnt a lot of people just say they were bought off?

Yea haven't seen anything lower than 7 from IGN and Gamespot. I was surprised mainly because I don't trust those sites and just assumed this was an automatic 8+ for these sites.
