Just for the record, the reaction I had to the last jedi was identical to the first Michael bay transformers. ..
Absolute disgust...and rage
Here is just one of hundreds.Where are you getting all this info? I dont remember hearing Abrams had drafts and whatnot of the entire trilogy.
Except that he stopped whining during his training, was progressing well, then sensed his friends were in trouble so he left.He was whining virtually every second of his training, then abandoned his training to go get his ass kicked by a cripple.
Where in the trilogy are you seeing Luke as a wise, all powerful Jedi who would never fail at training an apprentice and then go into hiding? I mean it already happened to Obi-Wan who is portrayed as being much wiser and mentally strong than Luke.
I wish Hamill had turned down the role. We wouldn’t have had Luke, but at least we would still have Luke, you know? The worst part really, is that abrams had a complete coherent trilogy story, and script drafts.
Rian felt it took away to much from him being able to show off so he shit canned all of it.
There were scenes that Luke was a bad ass and that took away to much from rians new characters he wanted to right so he made luke a bitch.
Hamill was going to the gym everymorning to get in shape and was pissed when he read the “new” script.
Even daisy has talked about how rian shit all over Abraham’s story.
Fuck that guy , it’s one thing to fuck with charactors of an adult, but seeing how it’s pissed off so many kids too, who had such high hopes to see luke now In a new movie get shattered.
My kid doesn’t even want to watch it again, doesn’t want to buy the new movie doesn’t ask about it at all.
He’s perfectly content to watch the original trilogy every night.
He puts one in his DVD player every fucking night to watch when he goes to bed and falls asleep, we have every movie except last Jedi.
He normally always watches one of 4-6, sometimes one of the prequels and he has zero fucking interest in ever seeing last Jedi again. This is a kid that watches a Star Wars movie Every fuckjng night!!!! HE has ZERO interest In ever watching it again and hasn’t even asked when the new one is coming out.
That’s how bad that asshole fucked up Star Wars.
I wish Hamill had turned down the role. We wouldn’t have had Luke, but at least we would still have Luke, you know?
This movie was so bad I couldn't stomach to watch it in one go, it's a cringing festival. As for comparing it to The Phantom Menace, I cannot concur.
In the Phantom Menace you had at least interesting characters like Qui Gon Jinn, Darth Maul and good lightsaber fights. The Last Jedi has by far the worst scrip, directing, characters, action scenes and acting of the whole franchise, second to none.
I never thought there would come a time when I would stop looking forward to these movies. Can't believe what they've done with this universe and the media deceiving campaign around it.
There are interviews on line you can watch with daisy talking about it, like was talking about it till they silenced him(meant to type Hamill lol)
Dude look around the info is not hard to find.
The source you posted is saying the complete opposite of what you stated. It says Abrams was a fan of Johnsons script and wanted to direct it after he read the screenplay. Here is just one of hundreds.
Jj also said he didn’t like rians script after he read it and asked if he could do the last Jedi instead because he knew he was going to fuck it up.

That said, Abrams did like Johnson’s pitchand wanted to direct The Last Jedi himself after reading the final script.
Not at all. His greatest feat is barely defeating a crippled Vader who is a shell of himself, can barely breathe, and needs to be encased in armor just to stay alive. That's the only time we've seen him face off against another Jedi.
Meanwhile throughout the whole trilogy we see him constantly complaining about things and struggling. I mean just because he mans up at the end doesn't make him a complete badass.
The movies are exploring the scenario of what would happen if everything went to shit after the trilogy. He is trusted to train his best friend and sister's child and fails miserably. He fails Ben, fails Han, and fails Leia. He fails his other students who either get murdered or go along with Ben. His Jedi academy is burned to the ground. After all this happens he chooses to go into exile. Just like both Yoda and Obi-Wan before him.
Makes sense to me. I mean he's nowhere close to as strong as Yoda and look what ends up happening to him.

One of the links from the article sends you to another page where it talks about how much Abrams like the script.

So, what exactly are you talking about?
Lol So Vader is just some cripple now?Not at all. His greatest feat is barely defeating a crippled Vader who is a shell of himself, can barely breathe, and needs to be encased in armor just to stay alive. That's the only time we've seen him face off against another Jedi.

Wrong. His greatest feat is that he willingly went in front of arguably the two most powerful beings in the universe and did so completely unarmed for the sole purpose of turning Darth fucking Vader, a goddamn walking Murder Factory, back to the light. He accomplished this.
Theres more to being a jedi than waving your light saber around.
The problem isnt even that he failed and chose exile. Its that in no fucking way, shape, or form did they convey it properly that that character would have done was he did. Again, this dude faced down Emperor Palpatine and Darth frigging Vader unarmed. But then he sees his own family member, that he helped raise from the time he was born, being manipulated by the most insidious force in the galaxy and he instantly thinks "IM GONNA SLEEP-STAB MY NEPHEW".
To top it all off, his death is completely arbitrary and meaningless.
Now it's time for the fanboys to admit The Force Awakens and Rogue One both sucked dick too.
Lol So Vader is just some cripple now?
And Yoda is a 2 foot tall, 900 year old elf monkey. For a force user, their physical form doesn't have much bearing on what they can actually do.
Vader was not some chump. He could have had Stephen Hawking's condition and still fucked up people with his force power alone.
And that is a shit story. What fun is watching a movie where a guy just fucking fails at absolutely everything?
Especially when you don't show how or why he fails. He just fucking fails.
A competent, good guy can't do a SINGLE thing right? Really? We're just supposed to go along with that and ask no questions? And be content with what we're watching?
I don't need a happy ending. But if you're going to show the greatest Jedi/hero of the galaxy, as a complete failure, then the movie should have been about how he got to that point.
His death is the climax of the film, allowing the rebels to escape and making Kylo Ren look like a fool. It was an epic moment. Only an idiot would call it meaningless.
Also he looked inside Vader and sensed that he could be turned. He saw good in him. He explicitly says he looked inside Kylo Ren and saw he couldn't save him. That's why he made the choice he did, though ultimately he didn't go through with it.
Luke was portrayed in the original trilogy as an amateurish, headstrong, whiny protagonist who ultimately at the end manned up and made the right decision. He grew as a character. This doesn't suddenly mean from that point on he is a badass Jedi incapable of wrong who always makes the right decisions. That's not how life works, and that's not how humans work. We fuck up.
The movie had multiple flaws but Luke's character was not one of them. IMO he was one of the best parts of the movie.
Are you kidding? Vader was worse than Kylo ever was, I think, and Vader got redeemed.
He was probublay told to change his opinion, I swept through the article posting it as it was the first one on google search.
I had read before the reason he asked to do it was because of how bad he hated it and it was a complete pile of shit basically(as we all agree) I’m sure they said”here’s 9, now change your opinion on rian to the public”
Rian trashed everything he was setting up, you think he actually liked it? If he had why would he then ask to do it??
well its sci fi....the moment someone chooses to have an issue with something beforehand during or after....its very easy to cite "cringe" moments...unbelievable characters and shakey plotlines...its near entirely based on something that to us at least is not a reality lolYou see, I get that about a "enjoyable romp thru scifi" and will give a sci-fi film a great deal of latitude in this regard when it comes to criticism.
if a film is enjoyable, entertaining, doesn't induce cringes every 5 minutes, has believable characters, I will give it a pass.
as I mentioned earlier, Force Awakens, and Rogue 1 had clear problems, and although there are glaring criticisms of these films, they were still enjoyable.
Vader didn't move like a cripple.Lightsaber skills still take some physical ability. Vader is a shell of himself at that point. He may be a badass, but Anakin was a stronger Jedi.
The movie wasnt about Luke, it was about Rey. She's the main protagonist of this series. Luke is basically Yoda at this point. And he got a way more glorious sendoff than any of the other Jedi. Sounds like you're giving Disney more ideas about prequel material though.
What did you not like about Rogue One?
I skipped it when it first came out, but just caught it recently. I thought it was good movie in its own right, and that it was much better than the piece of shit TLJ, and better than TFA.
