I am surprised the critics reviews hasn't started a reviewgate or something on Reddit. It really seems many review sites are schilling to be on disneys good side.

I read a BBC article basically saying the negative reviews are from a minority just trying to sabatoge the score due to political reasons.

I go on imdb too. Their score is really fucking off.

Nevermind the metacritic score, the user rating is 7.8/10. I went to read the user reviews and the highest i found was a 6. I looked through 3+ Load Mores and i saw lots and lots of 1s and 2s.

Something is odd.

Yeah I'm not even thinking about the character really, like I dont even consider the prequels Canon because they're so stupid and just butcher Darth Vader as a character...

but Mark Hamill himself, deserved to have his most famous live-action character given justice, and not some counter-arc to illustrate how "the Star Wars movies arent all think-tank writing! we WILL do unique and different stories!" ...like I get that that's great, but if you were gonna give ANYYYY actor/characters a fulfilling conclusion, it would be Luke and Leia

For most , Luke Skywalker is Star Wars. Shitting on that shit on all of it

Nope.
Look at the sherdog score. All the negative scores are in the low teens. All the positive scores are in double digits. Positive outweighs negative by 2 to 1.
RT is infested with a bunch of trolls. Imdb is the better one.

Did we ever see plagueis during that arc? I though palp had already killed him?

And we never see dukoo until maul is gone also

We never saw Plagueis...I assumed he'd been killed years before the events of the movies, the way Palp describes it "did you ever hear the story of Darth Plaguis the wise?" It must be an OLD story right?
Minor plot hole: the entire Jedi order was unaware of the existence of any sith in the last 1000 years before Darth maul showed up, yet there is a story of Darth Plaguis the wise floating around from recently memory.

Secondly Dooku was a Jedi who turned sith. There was 10 years between episode 1 and 2. So looks like the rule of two possibly holds up....but then again Darth maul apparently didn't die and was still active so yea the rule is nonsense lol

Nope.

For what it's worth...I wish I could go back and change my score to like a 6, or 5.
This movie was pretty fun with thrilling moments, but does not hold up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny. It's a nonsensical mess basically.

Good points.

Who the hell is Snoke? How in the 30 +/- year since Episode 6, did this super power arise out of nothing? He appears to be ancient in age. Was he just chilling on the Outer Rim keeping radio silence or something? Just waiting for Palpatine to die or become weak?

I really think he was included simply to enrich Kylo Ren as a character. Essentially prop.

Snoke is not Sith

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about...

it's FINE to use a powerful guy like Snoke as a stepping stone for Kylo, no problems with that, it's a good idea, then where the fuck was he during the OT?

It's FINE to use the hyperdrive as a weapon, what a great idea....but then why didn't they ever use it in the previous 7 movies?, all of which would have benefitted imensely from that kind of weapon.

It's FINE to have the resistance story as a learning arc for Poe, it's great in theory, but it doesn't hold up...why the hell didn't she just tell him the plan??

Yoda destroying the tree is another one. It's FINE....he's trying to teach Luke one more lesson about letting go of the past, but wait wtf? Force ghosts can appear anywhere and use lightning and hit people?
Why didn't they bring back all the old Jedi to help them fight all their battles?
Kylo wouldn't stand a chance against Obi wan, Anakin, Quigon, Yoda, Luke and Rey.

In summary...this movie looks good from afar, but is far from good.

What I have read from other fans who enjoyed the TLJ is essentially, stop asking questions. Take it for what it is. Right, I got that. I have been watching movies for a long time, when there's a 3 titted girl in Total Recall, I don't ask questions, enjoy the tits and move on.

But.

It's Star Wars, I have watched the OT probably 30+ times, 1-3, easily 10-15. I read forums, I bought an Xbox specifically for Knights of the Old Republic. I am grown man and I watch the cartoons with as much interest as my kids! The point is not all fans can enjoy it at face value.

I know 1-3 and 4-6 had some plot holes but I felt like I could deal with them more easily.

Much like our score, IMDBs score is not making sense. Out of all the high scores, none of the happy go lucky voters are speaking up. Meanwhile, on imdb, there are floods of 1 scores, yet its a 7.8?

Glad to know RT confirmed their score.

It was a good movie. The CGI was too much for me but the rest was fine. Except Luke. Poor Luke.

Is anyone else think that the crystal foxea looked like shitty CGI?

Was shocked to learn it was actually animatronic/puppet

How do you like that they keep information like that locked behind some stupid book and not in the movie

This movie is really the Star Wars version of Alien: Covenant in so many ways.

I wish they had dropped every scene with Fin and the chubby Asian chick and filled in the immense holes. I can't think of one thing that Fin and the chumba wumba actually accomplished.

After the last movie, there were questions EVERYONE wanted answers to

Here is what we got;

Q: Who is Snoke?
A: No idea

Q: Why is Luke hiding like a little bitch?
A: Because he was sad. Fuck the rest of the galaxy.

Q: Who is Rey and how can she wreck seasoned force users despite zero training?
A: She's just some random girl that can wreck seasoned force users despite zero training.

There were countless Youtube videos speculating on all of these and they decided not to properly address any of these. That's the most frustrating thing about this movie. Had it been a stand alone movie, it would have been really good. It was shot well, the action was intense, etc. but as part of a series, it definitely fell short.

I decided to watch Rogue One this evening. I'm halfway through, this really is sooo much better than TLJ
