If you have seen STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, how would you rate it?

That's good that you have strong citics about the movie but still recognize it as a 6 - 7.5. I feel like delivering a Star Wars experience to us is pretty much a 7 at the lowest. People get such high hopes for it that it gets a little crazy when they dip to really low scores due to a few plot points they didn't like... or whatever their reasoning is. In the end, they delivered stuff you don't see anywhere else... & I feel their were a bunch of home runs as well.

I haven't worked out my score yet, but I'm definitely north of what you're looking at. I'm still f*cked from Luke's turn... but I'll work it out.

I was really f*cked about Snoke... but then I realized that despite all the speculation... he was never a main character. His only roll was to show how a middle class kid gained control of the biggest military force in the galaxy.... so I'm fine with that. Still working other things about the movie out though.

On first viewing I was at like 6.75. Saw again and now feel 7.5.

One good outcome from this movie is that I can tell who is a Disney shill and who isn't. Any publication that is trying to hype up Rose is a full blown shill. It's like the equivalent of putting websites on the ignore list.

I'm ok with taking the franchise in a new direction, even with Snoke being killed, Kylo evolving into the character he has become, Luke doing one last deed and Rey being as powerful as she is. After all, JJ set up the story with some interesting new characters and as the theme of the movie told us, out with the old, in with the new. Hell, I don't even care about the mindless pandering going on, that is current events my friends and one day we'll look back on all this and yearn for these days due to current events in the future.

What I do feel cheated about, is that more time could have been spent on the most interesting characters, especially when you consider how much foreshadowing, dream sequences and flashbacks went in to TFA and were made to seem important and an integral part of the story. There is no way I am alone in wanting more story telling on Snoke, dead or alive, Rey's lineage and why her power is so great, and Kylo's ability to be such a strong force user that he was able to fool Snoke.

Well, since this movie is about The Last Jedi.
I assume there is no next movie since there are no Jedi's left.

If you watched the ending closely, it lines up and leads in perfectly to The Next Karate Kid.

man I actually feel for him pretty hard here...

he got a bunch of flack for whatever fucking reason for not really being in TFA

then he's portraying a version of Luke he doesnt agree with...the character that MADE his career, that he is synonymous with from now until eternity.... that would be really fucking hard to portray someone you are identified as, in a way you completely/whole-heartedly disagree with....

Why feel for him? He could have just turned the part down if he was actually upset.

Is Snoke even a sith? I thought Rens were some new entity.

If we're talking about movie cannon, you are pretty much automatically a Sith if you are using the force for personal gain. The abilities of the Jedi and Sith are basically the same, outside of the Sith being able to shoot lighting and a Jedi being able to absorb it. Not sure why the Jedi don't use the lightning. I guess ultimately, it's more of a spectacle type of power that looks impressive, but any execution can be carried out just as easily with a blaster or other weapon.

I found it annoying how Princess Leia told admiral Akbar where he should position the ship to get out of range of the first orders cannons. Like wtf admiral Akbar wouldn't know the capabilities of his own and enemy ships. The dude that has been in charge of the rebel fleet needs to be told what to do.

Wanna be edgy and diversify everything okay no problem but be fucking realistic and write the characters properly.

You are not diversifying anything but just adding sjw do you elements. Diversify the fucking writing and have the characters be believable. Every time some :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: writer talks about diversity you can tell the character is written by some white beta male with some useless art degree.

Alllllllll of which are exponentially better than the last jedi. Seriously transformers, all of them, are drastically better than that piece of shit.

Cinematically none of those movies are better than last Jedi.

I have my complaints about it as well but it’s a beautifully filmed movie.

Suicide Squad is awful in every single way. That’s a much worse movie imo. It’s not even close either. At least this movie had some parts that were amazingly good. SS doesn’t even have that

The purple haired bitch that is suppose to be some war hero as noted by Poe. Didn't expect Poe to do anything after she grills him for knowing what type of person he is. Like wtf it's like these assholes never been to war, oh wait they have been fighting for decades.....

Yeah - we already know that Rey will end up mopping the floor with Kylo again.

I will watch it but only to finish the series off. They don't have any type of re-watch value at all.

This movie was so bad right out of the chute for me. Way too much emphasis on comedic relief and thrusting woman power down your throat. I know women can be fierce and independent, I got it loud and clear. Lots of bad acting and predictability. I would've loved to see Chewie kick some more ass, Poe do some more damage, more scens with Gwendolyn Christie and Benicio. Obviously they're steering this franchise towards women now.

Game of Thrones. Linda Hamilton in the Terminator movies and Sigourney in the Alien movies. All fantasic action pieces with great female leads without shoving feminism down your throat. I wish Star Wars could be a bit more like that.

I'm just hoping some of the offshoot movies can capture some of the old shine from the 80's but i'm not gonna get my hopes up.

Dude this is a movie about space wizards. Contrary to your belief, it is much harder to believe in Sigourney or Hamilton kicking the shit out of dudes with no magical powers, which is exactly what happens in those movies.

Today on facebook, while reading through a discussion - I'll call it a bitch session - over the love/hate of TLJ. I actually read these words: "The Original Trilogy isn't as bad ass as you remember, that's why you like Rogue One so much."

It was then I realized I could never understand some of the newer Star Wars fanboys.

Am I taking crazy pills? Or am I just a revisionist who is stuck in the OT?!? Because that jackoff who said the OT wasn't that great, essentially, received like 10+ likes!

It was like someone saying the Godfather was shit because now we have Transformers and the CGI is amazing. I do not even know if I am exaggerating at this point.
I'm a newer fan who didn't grow up with Star Wars but started watching 1-6 as a teen. What I think about the original trilogy as someone young:

A New Hope: Fun adventure with memorable characters. I can see why audiences fell in love with this movie in 1977. Not a badass movie, but a timeless adventure. 9.5/10
Empire: Holy shit this movie was good. Best part was Luke vs Vader. 10/10
Return of the Jedi: This is where the trilogy fell flat for me. I liked the beginning, but once we got to the Ewok planet I lost interest. Great ending, though. 7/10
Average: 8.8/10

As for the prequels and newer movies:

Phantom Menance: LOL this did not age well at all. So boring except for the Darth Maul fight. 3/10
Clones: Nothing about this film captivated me except Anakin talking about killing the Tuskins. 2/10
Revenge of the Sith: Has a lot of good parts (Yoda/ Emperor, Order 66, the dragged out but emotional Anakin/ Obi-Wan fight). Still too much cheese, though. 6/10
Average: 3.7/10

Force Awakens: Copy of A New Hope but I liked Rey and Finn as characters, and the mystery of Luke's disappearance keeps it interesting throughout. 8/10
The Last Jedi: Rey/ Kylo/ Luke stuff is incredible (9/10), but the Finn/Rose/Poe stuff is disgustingly bad (1/10, except for the kamikaze scene). 5/10 from averaging them out.
Average so far: 6.5/10

The prequels were meme-worthy, while the newer movies are more meh and forgettable. A worse fate, I think.

After the force awakens I was waiting ever so patiently for the return of luke. And ther shit.

Who’s Rey?snoke? Wtf is gonna happen next.

This movie left nothing to move forward on, nothing to look forward too.

Should have ended it with luke finishing off Kylo through projection of whatever, force ghost dieing and there it is. Series over.

Start new series in old republic timeline or something.

No desire now.

It's strange that strong female characters are too much strain on the imagination to suspend disbelief in a movie about Space Ninjas.
