Actually not.
You see, before watching the new iteration of mad max i heard a lot of complaints about charlize theron character. HEr being the protagonist and stepping on male characters and what not.
Well i loved the character and the movie, it felt natural and i didnt feel the movie tried to push an agenda.
What i saw here was clearly a movie trying to hard. Rey suddenly becoming an experienced warrior and beating the villain was cringe worthy. Her refusing the hand of Finn for no reason whatsoever.
Everything the movie showed she doing was to portray how awesome she was. How good a mechanic she was. How good a fighter she was. How good a jedi knight she was. How independent she was.
It bored and annoyed me.
But i actually could swallow all this if the movie was not a carbon copy of a new hope. What bothered more, more than the feminist agenda being shoved down my throat, was the third death star.
Refusing the hand of Finn for no reason? Maybe that she had never met him before and no she is being grabbed and pulled around by him within the first minute of meeting. Shortly after she didn't and they grabbed hands. I think you are reaching at straws here.
Also she suddenly becoming a badass was the force flowing through her. They pretty clearly said that Ren wasn't fully trained.
What is wrong with a strong female character, didn't feel like feminism being shoved down people's throats at all. She grew up as a scavenger with no family. Only a strong and smart person would survive that... If it was a male character you wouldn't think twice about it.
Whatever everyone has their own opinion. I disagree with yours and obviously you will mine.
