Star Wars Megathread

Hmm... In their discussion Ahsoka said "with your help the Jedi can stop Sid."

Maul declined joining the Jedi in the fight, but he then said, but you & I can beat Sid. So I don't read anything into her "joining him"... since she just asked him to join her. The same goal is being reached. She's just using him to beat Sid. It's not like the 2 are going to get married & rule the universe or something. My future ex-wife would never do that.

Lol, open up the browser as I drink my first cup of coffee this morning and what's one of the first things I see??

"Bill Burr defends former Madalorian cast mate Gina Carano"

Which appears to coincide with the other Trolltubers on YT. I don't have Twitter, so I can't verify, but if MSM is writing about Bills comments, then it must be true that someone is butt hurt that Bill Burr has his own opinion, and there will soon be an attempt to cancel him for thinking independently of the hive mind.

I just can't imagine that the two Bobs are sitting at the top of the Disney pyramid looking down at Lucasfilm and the slew of negativity going on in the media surrounding the property and think to themselves that everything is fine with the leadership there. I mean.....

I liked Burr in that role. Was really hoping he was going to join Mando’s crew

Was reading the article you mentioned. He does state it’s scary, people out there combing through your past just looking for a comment that can put you in a negative light

It is. It's not even hyperbole when he says they are waiting in the weeds looking to pounce on someone to cancel them. I remember when they tried to cancel one other time for some jokes he made on race and were completely unaware he's married to a black woman. Trolls still want their pound of flesh from this guy.

I’ll check out KMT’s movie Raya and the Last Dragon tomorrow, it looked pretty decent and I like those animated movies

And then Daisy and Holland in Chaos Walking tomorrow as well
Hell yeah! I'm really looking forward to Rey & Spiderman's movie. Hopefully the production problems ironed themselves out in a good way.

Comming to America 2 drops this weekend too I think.

I watched A New Hope and was puzzled that despite being a remaster with all these new effects and such, they didn't do anything about the lightsaber effects.

To be specific, when Luke is training with that orb thing his lightsaber looks almost white compared to earlier in the movie and the effect is kinda blocky. There is also where Obi-Wan fights Vader and you see straight down his lightsaber to reveal the rod that the effects applied to.

Still awesome movie, though. Almost every line of dialogue is memorable and quotable.

There'z been probably a half a dozen "re-masters"... which one did you see?

Whichever version that was uploaded on the dodgy site i watched it on.

Wasn't aware there had been that many remasters. Is there one that improves the lightsaber effects?
That's an interesting question that @One MMA Fan might be more qualified to answer? I could, but I got no time atm. I'll revisit it later if this goes unanswered though.

I mean you can just youtube the differences between the different releases & find some info with very little effort... but if memory serves... brother ONE might already be on top of this. I could be wrong about that though. Someone presented this before... but I'm a little shady on who exactly it waz. For sure though... I can tell you that there are light saber differences from one re-boot to the other.

Soundz like you got one of the weaker versionz.

There are a lot of versions and edits out there for the Original Trilogy.
From the top of my head:
- Original Edition
- Original but with new name / scroll
- Home releases VHS and the holy grail of the Laser Disc
- The Special Edition
- The DVD and more important the Two DVD pack that also included the version of the earlier ones that was considered 'more' pure if you will
- The Bluray version / release and remastered or whatever they did to it
- The Disney+ streaming version that surprisingly again had new thing with the "maclunkey" line good old George still had one more in him :D

Probably I missed one, I tried to be in order but they are a lot.
Main idea with the original lightsabers is they were considered "blue" on paper but technically the only time you can actually see some legit blue color is in the Vader vs Obi duel the rest is dominated by a strong white color in the middle/core that kinda makes the blade seem cyan in color.
Then as you advance to Empire Strikes Back you have a bunch of versions and some more nuances to Vader's blade that in the originals with a pink-ish hue but they made Luke's more blue in that one.

To summarize original should be cyan/white looking with a tad blue in the duel scene. Then moving forward you get better blue until we get green xD.

Here this is a decent 1080p version of as close you can get to the original bare bone version:

That's a lot of fuckin remasters. Also the version you posted fixed the lightsaber color and prop issues very nicely. It's missing many of the new special effects featured in other remasters i.e. new creatures in Mos Eisley, Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon impression.

Weird that they released a version with loads of new effects and didn't fix any of the original issues such as in the version i watched recently.

Nice post, though. Thanks.
