Unfortunately, he's too high-dollar and WAY too busy of a schedule to do a series.

My immediate thought was 'He'd be Littlefinger with blue skin.' But then I remembered his other roles and he's not a one-note actor, he'd put his own spin on Thrawn.

Something like Littlefinger + Military Leader + Sherlock Holms.

Agreed! He’s not my first choice but I think he could handle it and make it his own.

There’s also something to be said about how old he should be at this point? I know the Chiss might age differently, it’s certainly easy enough to just say that, but maybe if they want to do a much older Thrawn

I say this mostly for his ability to convey patience

Rumor: Iron Man Actor Robert Downey Jr. In Discussions For Possible Star Wars Villain Role In The Mandalorian

This rumor has been around the net for a while now, since mid-October. Not sure if I buy it, but RDJ does have a very positive relationship with Favreau, so I'd say this is in the 'In the world of possibility, but very likely false' kind of rumor.

And if it is true, and Disney is willing RDJ's pricetag for a SERIES, that means theaters are dead and streaming platforms are now the #1 means of entertainment for worldwide audiences.

And unlike RDJ, Lars is a proper 6’4” tall. Even taller than Mad’s who has been mocked up for Thrawn.
