Star Wars Megathread

Tales of the Jedi was an excellent anthology. I immensely enjoyed each episode. Out of the six, the weakest was the first, but it provided book ends to the series. Dooku’s arc is something I’d like explored more.
Yeah the first episode was kinda pointless and I figured she was gonna take the beast

Vice Channel has a hour show for each of the first six movies except combines the last two prequels for one show. It's like some insider dirt historical documentary. Interesting.

I think there is a book about Dooku's fall to the dark side, but I havnt kept up with it much

I know he was a Yoda apprentice, then Qui Gons master (knew before the show) but havnt read much more about the character. hes pretty interesting though

When Kylo Ren gave his remaining life source to save Rey... His hole body disappeared.

Only moments later... Kylo awakens in teh following scene with his memory wiped:

The last episode with Ahsoka Tana was great. The way she killed that Inquisitor was just bad a**! Whole series was great. Hope they'll do more.

....and better than the Sequel Trilogy

That really isn't high praise.

I remember a EGM review for KOTOR, which gave it a 10/10, said 'This is the best thing thats happened in the Star Wars franchise since Empire Strikes Back.' And he was right.

THATs high praise.

Didn't think that I'd say this about a Disney Star Wars show, especially one where I didn't give a shit about the central character, but Andor is pretty awesome.

Watched it with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

TIE Fighter is still my GOAT SW game...

Imperial through and through, no moral questions.

Wish I could give you a like. I stopped after the first episode but glad I came back because the next five were MUCH better. Great stuff with Dooku and Ahsoka. The Dooku stuff in particular should be made into live action - he's always been an interesting character who needed more of a backstory.

I dunno anymore honestly. I think origin/backstorys are getting overdone and I'd rather some things be left to the imagination rather than some producer ruin that character for me.

There are exceptions of course, but I'm seeing it more in print where the same author who created the character is doing their backstory...yes obviously this would include Tim Zahn's cannon Thrawn Origin Trilogy....

Agree to an extent, but it's hard if not impossible to do a real backstory in a movie - there's just not enough screen time. You need a serial or a novel to do it properly. And to invest that much in a character, their movie scenes better leave you wanting more. I'd say guys like Dooku, Windu and Boba Fett are among the handful that deserve one.

We've seen Disney fuck up Boba Fett's sequel series (though some of it was OK), but Mandalorian and Andor shows they can get it right. Something of that quality showcasing Dooku's struggle with Jedi hypocrisy, conflicted galaxy under the Senate, etc. would add greatly to SW lore. We all know there was a lot more to it than Padme and fucking Jar Jar nominating Palpatine as Chancellor and then Palps riding the night train to Emperor.

Watching the VICE Star Wars specials on DVR and they really make it sound like George had really shitty judgment and surrounded by yes men. The ex-wife looks like worn out drug addict bum. The C3-PO actor sounding a lot like a bitching 24/7 guy.

Wasn't in a hurry to watch the latest Bad Batch and tried to get caught up and had to turn it off. Seems uninteresting, like filler rather than building up to something interesting.

It's hard to say where teh Bad Batch is going with it all on a grander view, since they mostly seem focused on character development and cool little bits & pieces rather than moving any major storylines forward.

That said, Omega's the only other known clone without the added "growth acceleration" & so with brother Boba getting his own series... and that show being merged with several other shows in order to create a grand finale where they all merge together... I'd expect Omega makes an appearance 30 years later in 10 or 11 ABY to join the fun. Maybe Omega showz up with Ezra!
<DCWhoa>

Likely the Bad Batch will be too old to be of much use by then, since they age twice as fast.

I enjoy the shows for what they are personally, and so I don't need a grand addition to the main story lines. I'm content to just kick back & enjoy the more random, but informative content.

Was browsing the Topps website's Star Wars Living Set and others and they currently have unmasked Din Djarin Living Set card and saw a '84 Topps Baseball design Chewbacca card. I like those old design reproductions, so might buy if there's a good character.

Can't help but think this season's low viewer numbers are due to the immense screw up of the Disney execs shoe horning Mando into Boba and wasting good story for some filler episodes.
