It's a curse. I was just ranting about this to my friends in a Discord chat a few weeks ago. I mentioned it in my recent thread about the upcoming Elder Scrolls series on Netflix.

This is what killed all the MCU television properties. These suits don't seem to understand that while these IPs are derived from comic culture-- cinema isn't comic culture. You can't place these demands on the viewer. The reason people found all the Marvel movies so compelling was that they were yoked by a single, digestible narrative. Seeing one made you want to see more. This dynamic has a dual edge, though, which must be respected. People want to feel like they are experiencing the whole story, or they will wholly reject the story.

That's why all the MCU television series collapsed at the same time. Doesn't matter because Disney didn't seem to learn. They're firing up a bunch of new ones. Wandavision will do well, because it follows living Avengers, who are central to the MCU canon, but the rest-- even Loki-- will crap out. Now Disney wants to kill the momentum they've regained in Star Wars, too. Netflix is determined to copy their mistake with videogame IPs. At least Netflix grasps that each videogame IP is a separate narrative universe.

I suspect the shows tied into the Filoniverse will do well. It’s the outliers that will have trouble. Which I’m fine weeding out the weak.
Taika’s movie should do well, he’s down with F&F. I was hyped for Rogue Squadron until Wonder Woman 84 shit the bed. Apparently Jenkins can’t write, just direct. I’m hoping KK and Cronies “Acolyte tanks hard and finally leads to her firing.

why won't they do a show about the old republics era, that's literally the best part of star wars mytho, I wanna see Darth Revan and Darth Nihilus

you piece of shit

First, Revan and Nihilus are from two different games.

Second, Nihilus isn't actually a character.

Third, the way things are going with Disney, do we really feel they can be trusted with adapting KOTOR1&2?

Lets wait until at least Kathleen Kennedy is long gone.

I'm talking about adapting one of those EU comic stories about old republic era

Rian Johnson's new trilogy

There hasn't been a peep from Disney about that since it was announced over three years ago.

It was announced before Ep8 TLJ was released, and was used as a way to advertise for TLJ by saying 'Wow, its so good we're going to be giving Rian Johnson his own trilogy!'

And.... fans (real fans) hated TLJ. Not going to rehash it, but the backlash was epic.

And since TLJ was released and Rian Johnson's has made multiple statements on social media trolling fans - not a smart move when you're supposedly making a trilogy for the fans - many have speculated he knows his SW trilogy isn't going to be made.

It should be considered unofficially cancelled, if it ever actually was in preproduction in the first place.

I saw the chatter on Sherdog about it being seemingly scrapped, and I'm hopeful that's true, but there is no official word that it has been canceled.

THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Star Temuera Morrison Will Reportedly Shoot OBI-WAN KENOBI Before THE MANDALORIAN Return
181286.jpg

While Temuera Morrison is currently hard at work shooting The Book of Boba Fett, a new report claims that the actor has a role to play in Obi-Wan Kenobi before moving on to The Mandalorian season three.

Temuera Morrison's return to the Star Wars franchise in The Mandalorian season two was, to put it bluntly, awesome. Sure, it was a little disappointing that those live-action Captain Rex rumours didn't pan out, but as Boba Fett, the actor proved himself perfect for the role of the weathered bounty hunter.

Now, he looks set to have a busy few years ahead of him. As well as shooting spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, Morrison has a couple of other big Disney+ projects lined up according to LRM Online.

The site reiterates past reports that the actor will reprise his role as Commander Cody in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series. That does make sense, because whether it's in flashbacks, or the present day, the bond between the Jedi Master and Cody that was formed during The Clone Wars was noteworthy. However, it's worth noting that past reports have pointed to Darth Vader hunting his former friend down with Cody, and the 512th Legion, by his side.

As soon as work on The Book of Boba Fett is done, Morrison is expected to head to England to work on Obi-Wan Kenobi before then returning to the U.S. for The Mandalorian season three.

The future is looking bright for Boba Fett, and it makes sense for him to have a recurring presence throughout this Galaxy Far, Far Away over the next few years. Stay tuned for further updates!

I was pretty bummed out, shocked (in a negative way), and disappointed when Ahsoka's lightsabers didn't cut through the Madalorian's armor.

Cant we once again call upon 1983 Luke to dispatch KK and bring order to the Force, like the chosen fucking ONE that he is?

Pure Beskar baby. Ahsoka must have forgot about beheading those other four Mando’s.

As a funny side note. With the prevalence of body armor and the accuracy of red dot sights, some tactical shooting classes are teaching to hit face and neck shots. Stormtroopers should sign up.

I love how over the years they’ve kinda ignored Galen Marek, but have stolen his fighting style to add to others.

Lol at people still thinking Johnson’s. Getting his own trilogy. That ended the day TLJ went out in theaters and EVERYONE saw WTF he did

Yeah I'm watching Clone Wars for the first time you piece of shit
I'm rewatching that at the moment. Still very good. Can seem a bit filler sometimes but i still enjoy how it expands upon the different systems, their peoples and getting more backstory on the other Jedi masters.

Anyway, back on Star Wars:

Tell us your favorite (between EU and Canon) :
Stormtrooper variant
Star Fighter
Alien Species
(Brief sentence why)
Purge Troopers from Fallen Order
X-Wing
Twi'Lek - I've always thought they look cool and where possible in games i usually play as one. The females are hot too and tend to gravitate towards being exotic dancers.

Well if they did, the Mandalorians wouldn’t really be ancient enemies of the Jedi would they? They would be bums like the silly droid troopers

I think they'll just ignore it rather than acknowledge it's scrapped. Rumor is that's essentially what's happening with the sequel trilogy. It won't be decanonized, just ignored and the characters might be referenced in some way, but no more stories about them.

It's the same thing Starbucks does when a Drink fails. They don't actually discontinue it, they just say they ran out, and eventually people stop asking about it.
