Good question. I would asssume they are exactly the same as peas as in the outside pod is the fruit and the tiny seeds inside are the bean.

The final scene is Rocky and Apollo about to spar in the gym - that's what Rocky "owed" Apollo for all Apollo's help. The movie ends with the freeze frame of them about to hit each other.
