Squats for Mma

Super high reps of anything sounds like working hard for the sake of working hard instead of working smart. Strength and conditioning training should be done at the minimum effect dose to achieve your goals as well as safe as possible so you can concentrate your efforts in your skilled training. Not only would 4000 bodyweight squats everyday take for-fucking-ever and take precious time away from your skilled training(you know, the shit that actually makes you a better fighter) but it also sounds like a recipe for developing an overuse injury.

Yeah i know 4000 is way above crazy, i was just using it as an example of an actual nutty amount of reps, to show 100 aint really shit

Going down slowly makes it a true rep, anyone can fall down with the weight on their back, but to control it is an entirely different thing

You made it sound like you could do it easily before "I can do a hilarious amount of reps with 135"

Lol.

When you're planning to throw a punch at Steven Seagal....per his contract he has a 5 second advance notice clause..

THERE ARE NO PLYOMETRIC MOVEMENTS IN THIS DOJO! STRETCH REFLEX WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!

Could've used Rex there too. "Who wants to squat fast when I'm wearing these bad boys? NOOOOBOOODY"

All reps done with slow controlled negative are better than just flopping down
He didn't say he was doing it for time, so he probably did it at a normal controlled rate with decent form how most people serious about S&C would. If he said in the post he did it in 20 seconds, then you'd have that point.

What are you talking about?

He said he did 315 for 26 reps. You wrote it like he's sacrificing form for reps by letting the weight crash down sloppily. He probably did it well and controlled, its not like he was trying to hit 26 reps like crossfitters for time.

Why are you making an argument based on assuming how he did it, you have no idea how he did it

So what's the point

I don't know where this nonsense has come from tbh

Who did I accuse of flopping down with 800 on their back?
You can’t flop down with any weight on your back lol.

Have you ever touched a weight, homie?

So the answer to my question of "who did I accuse of flopping down with 800 on their back", was no one

So you was actually just arguing with yourself just now, that's good to know

How's your mental health doing, Jack?
