Spiders.

But on occasion I'll "play" with one, kind of prod it gently with a pencil or something like that. They seem to enjoy it. They have personalities for sure.

lmao no they fucking dont

I used to be scared shitless of spiders. I still am kinda but not like a little bitch or anything. I don’t kill them, same goes for any insect really except mosquitos and silverfish(nasty as fuck) so I trap and release. I live in a heavily wooded area so I get lots of spiders. No way in fucking hell could I live anywhere there is even a remote chance of a spider or turantula like that lurking anywhere around me. I would shit myself if that thing was in my house.

Saw a spider stretch it's legs once. Was watching it on its web, it put it's legs in 4 pairs the stuck them out as far as it could and kind of shook for a second as a human does when doing a steriotypical morning, wake up stretch...

fun fact: no spiders are poisonous. you dont eat spiders and get poisoned. some spiders are venomous, though.

eat=poison
bite=venom

once you learn the difference you cant help but notice every single time someone mixes those up
Well, shit. Thanks for pointing that out. Good info, actually. English isn't my first language, so that's my only excuse, and in my language there's only one word for both, but, yeah, either way - thanks!

Jumping Spiders are the GOAT arachnid. I see them from time to time, and they're always such chill little buggers. Could never merk one.

I'd kind of want to see the spiders of old times when the oxygen levels on the planet where higher..

Fun fact is insects are limited to their current max sizes as they sort of breed through their skin (tracheal system) and the oxygen levels aren't high enough for that system to be effective for bigger animals..

But then again, a camel spider the size of a golden retriever is a really fucking scary proposition..

I have a spider resident chilling near my front door. He is kind of my doorman against unwanted bugs.

Jumping spiders are the only kind I will leave in my place if I find one inside. The other ones get non-lethally relocated.

I respect you guys who live in places with spiders that can drag birds and mice up walls, but that's definitely not for me.

I love small spiders. Terribly scarred of the bigger ones. Luckly we don't have big spiders here.

Said that.. and given the fact that I want to travel and will be camping a lot. What are some of the advices to get rid of the fear? Serious questions bros.

Grew up in Australia so they don't bother me at all.

Used to have huntsman spiders in my car almost every week as I lived next to an empty lot that must have had thousands of them. They used to chill in my car and after a while I just got over them being there. They even crawled on my hands when driving. Never been bitten by a spider, so they are cool with me
<{jackyeah}>
All N.Americans should live in situations like that for a few years, with spiders everywhere and crawling across their hands while driving so they would learn to appreciate and respect thm.

Good for you. Being aware that a spider has a soul and is a creature of God is a huge step up for any person, and this compassion will pay dividends in your daily life even though you probably won't make the connection.

There are giant spiders in our home in Thailand, and they like to hang out on the walls. They aren't afraid of us because we leave them be. They could be arm's length from us in the bathroom while we're taking a shower, or right above our heads on the wall when we're in bed. They don't bother us and we don't bother them. But on occasion I'll "play" with one, kind of prod it gently with a pencil or something like that. They seem to enjoy it. They have personalities for sure.

That is a touching story.

Spider lives matter Bro!

Arent Hunstsmen spiders relatively harmless, though?
The most dangerous thing about a huntsman is when they surprise someone. Lol they are harmless to people, you could always get some sort of bacterial infection from anything breaking the skin. But to get one of these to bite you m, you pretty much deserve it.

Love spiders, the army of cellar spiders (that live in my basement) helped me recently with a carpenter ant issue.

One of the best ways is to go to your local zoo (pet store can work as well)and spend time watching them, observe them as close as you can. Slowly work your way up to finding one you can handle, or watch someone else handle and then maybe get a small tarantula (rose hair is a perfect starter spider)for yourself. That way when you get it it’s still small and you can watch it grow and see how amazingly delicate and beautiful they actually are.
