Oscar incoming.

Jokes aside, how many time can they reboot Spiderman? They are rebooting a reboot of a movie that is a reboot of an animated show that was itself a reboot of an animated show that was a reboot of a comic book.

Enough already!

You keep using that word, reboot. I don't think it means what you think it means.

You're right this the a reboot - the second, in fact. But calling the movies a reboot of the animated series, or the animated series a reboot of the comic, is incorrect.

I'm honestly hoping this movie fails so they stop spamming us with the same thing. The series didn't need a first reboot and now this?

VACATION Writer-Directors to Pen Sony's SPIDER-MAN Reboot

Vacation writer-directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are being set right now to write the Spider-Man reboot movie for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. The pair had been among the names on a shortlist to direct, but that gig went to Cop Car helmer Jon Watts, and the studio already has found its new Peter Parker in Tom Holland.

Getting a script ready for production was the next step as the pic is slated for release on July 28, 2017. Amy Pascal and Marvel’s Kevin Feige are producing the latest iteration of $4 billion superhero saga, which finds the action set in high school — though it is not considered to be an origin story.

In addition to another reboot in New Line’s Vacation, which comes out July 29 as their directorial debut, Daley and Goldstein paired on writing the Horrible Bossesfilms and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. They also co-wrote the script for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, which came from Sony’s Columbia Pictures.

Possible Description for Marvel's Take on SPIDER-MAN's New Suit

Latino-Review has a piece up about the new Spider-Man costume, and while they don't go into a lot of detail, it does sound pretty interesting. Apparently this version of the suit is going to be red and black, and they've used the piece of artwork below (which is from 2012 and was apparently "found by a source with access to the Spider-Man costume as a way of legally reporting on how it looked") to give us a better idea as to what we should expect when Spidey makes his MCU debut.

While they point out that this fan-art should only give us a very rough idea as to what we should expect, this is certainly in keeping with what Kevin Feige said about Peter Parker donning a homemade suit. As the site's source is only using this as a guide, there will no doubt be some major differences between this and the final product. Unlike the costumes in both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb's movies - both of which were very comic book faithful - this actually looks like something a teenager could make on a limited budget (bear in mind that cosplayers spend thousands).

It's fair to say that most of us probably expected Marvel to go for something a little closer to the source material, but as the Sony Hack emails indicated that Peter ends up in the Iron Spider suit by the time the credits roll, this is a look which probably won't be around for long.

Possible Description For Marvel's Very Different Take On SPIDER-MAN's New Suit Surfaces

We always said it never made much sense he could cling to shit through his clothing.

But that looks like Spider Hobo. Or is it Spider Bauhaus? I never can keep up with today's fashions.

:D He looks like Casey Jones little brother or some shit. What would be more annoying,if this is true, is that you know that Stark is going to give spidey his suit...cause stark is all everything.

Screenwriters Confirm No Origin Story for SPIDER-MAN Reboot

John-Francis-Daley-Jonathan-Goldstein-Spider-Man-Dragonlord.jpg

Spider-Man screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein were at the premiere of Vacation, which they wrote and directed, and said the tone of the Marvel reboot will be different from the character's previous feature film iterations.

"The main difference I think is the tone will be really grounded, about a real kid who gets these powers and what that means to a geeky, outcast kid and how he deals with them," Goldenstein told USA Today. "You don't instantly become a superhero, it's a long journey." Daley added, "It's spending a lot more time in the high school. And so we have time to sort of develop the powers with him and experience the wish fulfillment. And also just the fact that it is really alienating to other people."

Daley then confirmed that the reboot won't waste time showing how Spidey got his powers, and it will avoid the goofy mistakes Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) made in the original trilogy. "I don't think the origin story is going to be in there and also I think we're going to avoid the emo dance (from Spider-Man 3) ... as much love it," he said.

They want to focus on the "self-conscious" Peter Parker who is not popular and a "little geeky." Goldstein explained, "We want to sort of tell that story, and the fact that getting powers and becoming Spider-Man doesn't solve your problems." Daley added, "Because he has to keep it a secret from everyone, so it just makes everything worse for him."
