Would that be the first case of an actor coming back to the MCU to play a different character?

Chris Evans?

I honestly don't know. I do know that 99.999% of people watching wouldn't even register it.

That being said, they could make it work for them. Make it the same guy, only a triple agent: US/Nazi/ Soviet. Do a flashback where he is actually rescued and scuttled off to a Super Soldier Research facility in Argentina. After the war, the resource facility goes dark with Kraven in suspended animation. A power surge wakes him up with these new powers and no outlet or support. He begins to hunt for survival. He discovers a hidden stash of Nazi gold, and takes his skills global, becoming a world famous hunter. He comes to NYC for a showcase and seeing footage of Spidy working with Cap triggers his subliminal training, but its confused. Instead of wanting to fight Cap, he wants to defeat "the spider".

So make him like an evil counterpart to Bucky? Hm. I dunno. Just seems too mirror image to me. I'm also not really a big fan of merging unrelated characters. I didn't like how Ducard got blended with Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins. I'd have preferred had Ra's just used a different name.

I'm not advocating that angle, just saying they could make it would work in this MCU/ SONY hybrid. They've already adopted the super soldier experiment angle everywhere (Cap, Red Skull, Abomination, Bucky, Cap, Falcon, and even Spider-Man and Goblin).

I agree with you on Ducard. I thought that was lazy.

Jason Momoa was my original Kraven a few years ago. But since he was cast as Aquaman, I had to go with my 2nd choice.

I would have loved Prime Butler to be Kraven, but I think he might be too old now.

My version (and I think Marvel Comics' as well?) of Kraven is around mid-40s because he's a seasoned hunter. One of the reasons why I chose Butler (45).

Until they get rid of the cheesy/lame, cornball vibe of this franchise, it's doomed to fail again and again.

Not that it needs go all Dark Knight, but a little subtlety would go a long way. I watched TAS2 alone, and was still incredibly embarrassed by how lame the ending was. I could even feel my dog judging me.

I don't think it will translate in Hollywood years. I'm down if they write the part correctly and don't try and PG the theme.

Wow, that would actually be some excellent casting. Dinklage as Ock is interesting.

Tomei as Aunt May? First Roddy Piper, now this. My childhood is going to hell in a hand basket.

Tom Holland Explains How He Got Injured on CIVIL WAR Set

Josh Wilding of HeyUGuys and others chatted with Tom Holland recently, and managed to get a little bit out of him on his role as Spider-Man in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and his own solo film. The young actor said he actually got hurt "just before [his] last shot" on Civil War in an accident on set.

"It was my own mistake. I basically fell over and bashed my face in front of about two hundred crew members, so not my most heroic moment!" Holland said with a smile. "I was getting into position, everything went wrong, and they still did the take anyway."

The actor said, "it's impossible not to" take inspiration from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's takes on Spider-Man. "They were so great, and such real and rich performances, there were obviously factors that I love and will try to recreate. But I think the most important thing of the moment is to make a film that's obviously of the same character, but try to make a different, and new and exciting movie."

Tom Holland Gets Ultimate Peter Parker Haircut for SPIDER-MAN Role

Tom Holland (Captain America: Civil War, In the Heart of the Sea) got himself a new haircut -- parted in the middle with his long bangs -- that's awfully similar to the one Peter Parker has had in Ultimate Spider-Man comic book and animated series. You might also notice the dramatic transformation of his physique. He's clearly added muscle tone and shape to his slender frame.

Tom Holland's Spider-Man/Peter Parker will debut in Captain America: Civil War, which will arrive on May 6, 2016. He'll then star in the Jon Watts-directed solo Spider-Man movie to be released on July 28, 2017.

SPIDER-MAN LIVES: A MILES MORALES STORY Fan Film

Have yet to see Marvel really miscast anyone in the shared MCU universe so it'll turn out good. Kinda sucks it was rebooted so close to the last failed attempt.

Chris Hemsworth Helped Tom Holland Land SPIDER-MAN Role

Tom-Holland-Chris-Hemsworth-Spider-Man-Dragonlord.jpg

As the story goes, it was eventual Avengers director Joss Whedon who recommended Marvel take a second look at Chris Hemsworth for the lead role in Thor, after Whedon was so thoroughly impressed with Hemsworth while working on Cabin in the Woods. It seems Hemsworth has paid that favor forward, offering Marvel his own personal recommendation for Tom Holland to play Spider-Man.

"I emailed him while I was auditioning for the film and said, 'So can you maybe put in a good word for me?'" Holland told the New York Daily News while promoting his and Hemsworth’s latest film, In the Heart of the Sea. Hemsworth agreed.

"I called the guys at Marvel when they were casting [Spider-Man] and I heard he was in the final handful of guys and said, 'Look for what it's worth you're not going to meet a harder working more appreciative kind of guy,'" Hemsworth said. "I was so blown away by his sort of attitude and work ethic and how good he was. But then I said to Tom, 'I've told them that, so don't prove me wrong.'"
