Not sure how anyone can get excited about another Spiderman movie... This movie is going to bomb at the box office compared to more recent superhero movies

i like the suit honestly. its not likes gonna be the big bad. hes the sub boss if you will

The Andrew Garfield one was going great then they had to fuck it up and create a new one with asian, black, mexican and of course a white hero in it.

"Doing great"?

They did significantly worse than the originals.

As for "fucking it up" with having different races, I didn't know that Queens NY was exclusively white. Maybe it was in 1962 when most of the characters were created?

Anyway...

I think it's a pretty cool and relatively faithful costume rendition of the Shocker from the comics.

It is, although I never like Shocker as a villain. He was B List at best.

I hope they don't make the same mistake as previous Spider Man movies and try to cram in too many super villains.

On one hand, I don't give a shit about the comics (most of my comic knowledge comes from all the cartoons I watched when I was a kid), but on the other hand, I can't help but notice the weird disconnect comic readers have from their perception of what goes on in comics to the reality. The "comics are sacrosanct" notion is just weird to me.

Which versions of which comics? There's so many different reboots, reworks, and retcons of damn near every popular series that I find the idea that "they shouldn't touch ____" ludicrous. It's literally been like this from the start. Racebending characters is the least of some of the things done.

As far as the movies go, I actually like a bit of racebending, as despite the changing of a couple of traditionally white characters to minority characters, there's still an overwhelming vast majority of white characters in nearly all series and movie franchises. A little diversity shakeup isn't the end of the world. It's not like they're going away. Now there's simply a 5:1 ratio instead of 10:1. The horror!

Find me a version of Spider Man outside of a, "What If...?" type story where Mary Jane Watson-Parker was anything other than a white girl with red hair and you may have a point.

I don't mind some racial pandering. I was fine with Athletic and Explosive Heimdall, for example. But making MJ anything other than a smoking hot redhead is a step too far. I'm out.

I quite like Shocker's thrown together outfit.

What about Athletic and Explosive Johnny Storm?

Haha the Shocker looks a bit shit. Like he left the costume in the dryer for a few days and kinda rushed it on before doing whatever.

Are they going to play up his borderline B level villainy? Because that could make sense.

If by "shit" you mean he looks a bit like a turd, I agree.

My guess is that it will be kind of the point.

I'm guessing the plot will involve the Tinkerer arming loads of B and C list villains with high tech weapons, prompting Stark's involvement with the story.

Could be.

New SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Set Photos of Peter Parker and Ned Leeds

New Spider-Man: Homecoming set photos have surfaced featuring Tom Holland's Peter Parker hanging out with his pal Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon). We also have a couple of shots of Tyne Daly's character, who's identity remains a mystery for now.

Man, the shocker is cool but I was hoping for a different villain. They need to make up for that piss-poor venom in Spiderman III. I'd love to see Carnage. I always thought guys like Scorpion, Rhino, Mysterio and Tombstone were cool.

Agreed.

Hopefully Scorpion gets a quality storyline - not quite main villain, but not blown off like Rhino was in ASM2.

I thought the same thing. Maybe they're going for the homemade costume angle. Low budget villain or something.

I like this idea very much!

Instead of doing the Shocker, they should do the Shockmaster imo
