I don't see it.
Will Sasso would do a good job, Bobby Moynihan, probably others I'm forgetting (not that many funny big guys under the age of 50 right now, especially ones that can pull off a son of John Candy). I just don't see Josh Gad as very Candy-like.

Moynihan would honestly be great. Underrated funny dude.

Gad will probably be solid enough for what they’re going for though. No one is going to recapture Candy’s essence.

I definitely think this will be worth a watch. And if it’s terrible…who cares. I never get the notion that these legacy sequels somehow tarnish the originals. The fact that dumb and dumber to exists doesn’t diminish my enjoyment of the original in the slightest.

Pretty easy to just ignore the ones you don’t like.
