I love Mel and his brand of Catskills comedy but this is going to be terrible. Candy is dead and Star Wars is low hanging fruit at this point so it's gonna be a lazy spoof imo. Plus Mel is way to old and hasn't done anything good in forever. The only plus is seeing Moranis. I miss him. Do yrself a favor and go watch Little Shop of Horror (alternate ending version) right now!

History, Yung Frank, Blazing Saddles are great tho 4 shore... even Men in Tights wasn't bad



I would also feel better about it (the sequel) if that fat turdo Gad wasn't anywhere close to involved

I d say mediocre at best. It had good moments yes but overall it was very lacking and only worked with some scenes like a comedy show. As a movie it was boring and lacked structure. Also with disney tanking the whole IP a remake just doesnt work. Also Mel had a certain way of humor that worked decades ago and then he just went for copy paste all over. Even Space Balls was a mere caricature of his better movies.

With that being said, there is a lot of material for them to spoof with how bad the latest Star Wars films have been.

I've seen Spaceballs at least 200 times. I have a signed script by all the cast members somewhere as well.

I'm onboard for this though realistically, the slap stick comedy genre has moved on long ago.

Maybe this and Liam's new Naked Gun reboot will bring the genre back?

I don't see it.
Will Sasso would do a good job, Bobby Moynihan, probably others I'm forgetting (not that many funny big guys under the age of 50 right now, especially ones that can pull off a son of John Candy). I just don't see Josh Gad as very Candy-like.
