Jon did exactly what he said he was going do meanwhile Francis negotiated himself from being HW champ in UFC to the PFL where his/the organization's biggest moment ever was when Jon showed up to corner his friend.

Look how easily Jon got rid of Gone, er Gane while Francis had to panic wrestle in the 5th to secure a close decision win.
