That makes no sense. As much as Arman deserves to fight for the title, they will make the winner of Paddy Gaethje fight Ilia. Arman will probably get his shot late 2026

you never do that, especially at the top, especially in this era when so much is on the line, so much invested for advertising, UFC behind the scene shows, and third rate bourdain doing the intro voice overs.

I doubt he'll fight anybody, and I guess it'll be Max vs Oliveira for what is likely Oliveira's retirement fight. They really screwed the division having #4 and 5 fight for an interim title when Paddy has no wins in the current top 10, and Gaethje has 1 over #9 and a 4-3 record in the last 5 years.

There really aren't any more surprises or sudden improvements for Gaethje, and we already know he's a solid notch below championship level, so the only outcome that could make this decision still a shitty one but not a disaster would be if Paddy completely steamrolls him, which is unlikely. Any other result is them screwing over the division to protect Topuria and try to keep him propped up for 1 defense them jump the line again in a stacked WW division and probably screw that division over too. UFC matchmaking is beyond shit for years now.

How does that make no sense?? Ilia said he's not fighting the first quarter of the year, so he'll be back second quarter, late March through May. Arman no question is the #1 contender who just fought. So a mid spring fight makes perfect sense. Gaethje/Paddy is in later January. Having winner vs winner to unify the belts is the best idea.

Dana already confirmed winner of Paddy/Gaethje is the next to face Illa my sherbros, he is a liar but it’s also on the UFC website

Hence why I’m thinking Arman is fighting or sitting for quite sometime……. Plus who knows Illa’s timeline to return.

EDIT : Illa said no fights in the 1st quarter, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s is gunna be ready the 1st month of the second quarter of the year.

If Arman was smart he'd challenge Max for the BMF title. Stay active.

It should be understood by now that you can't just sit out and wait for a title shot. You need to earn it, and be ready to fight on a moment's notice when you get your shot. Arman, Evloev, and Shavkat are all too inactive to get their shots.
