Something that needs to be understood by all mma fans...

That makes no sense. The UFC could easily double the pay, but chose not to.

What we need to do is stop paying for UFC events. Just as we need to stop buying from Amazon, a company that killed (if not murdered) half a dozen employees last year.

People need to vote with their money. It's the only thing companies care about. Spotify just lost $4 billion in one day.

Of course, you can't compare real companies to a shoddy outfit like the UFC. But the principles are the same.
You think revenue drying up would increase the pay for the fighters?

Let me ask:
If espn signed a multimillion dollar contract for the ufc to add new early early prelim fights just to get more ufc content to lead in to events, would the early prelim fighters be entitled to 50% of that new revenue, irrespective of how much it gives them? Honest question…….

Or fighters on DWCS……..

What business is it then of the people who fight for others rights, who donate to charity, who stand up for the weak, who speak out against injustice?

Its called empathy and you clearly lack it, borderline sociopathic pov you have there bro (is bones your favorite fighter btw?)

one thing is simply not caring and not participating in the adult discussion, another is to take the energy and time to take a stance against the fighters.

Who truly provides you fans with entertainment ? Its the fighters. What if you had a family member that is fighting, would you support them in that case?
Why even side with a multi billion dollar dictatorship of a company? What do you get from it?

Get your priorities straight people, it ain't hard to put yourself in the fighters shoes and understand that the system needs changing.

How noble of you.

This thread is ridiculous. This is not a justice issue. It's strictly a behavioral issue on the part of the fighters. You want to fight injustice? Fight Walmart.

There you've got real pay issues with real people stuck in real situations.

No one got stuck in the UFC. They fought tooth and nail to get there. This is some pop-culture tabloid-worshipping nonsense.

Lol I really don't know why this stuff is so personal to so many of you guys. Almost everyone responding to the thread more or less agrees fighters aren't treated fairly and need a union, most of us have discussed it at length before. Some of us just don't want to discuss it nonstop and see 100 threads regurgitating the same shit every day.

That's not "normalizing injustices" I just don't get on Sherdog to be whine about fighter pay in an echo chamber every day like many seem to. When the Francis interview with Ariel came out, I was discussing it all day because it was relevant, and new information was presented. Almost a week later all the points have been made, we all get it, it gets old. And it's frankly negative, and not fun to talk about.
Def not fun to talk about. It's bad that a thread about the cleanest left hooks gets buried in the 4th page while fighter pay threads dominate the first page.

That's a dope pic

@2004 account

Why were you mocking the tragic death of Justin Thornton?

So it is okay if combat athletes like Justin Thornton suffer miserable deaths, as long as combat athletes in your favorite promotion are paid more?

Please explain your lack of empathy for us UFC shills?
Yea you and the mod can go dox me and fine comb tooth my whole posting history and find that one drunk (but trying to be funny natured) post that I made a while ago just to try to make a strawman argument here all you want, the truth is the ufc are greedy and under pay their fighters. If it wasnt true then so many fighters wouldn't be saying the same thing. You can do all the sidestepping you want but that's a fact.

This horse has been abused! Keep it moving, u aren't gonna change the world

Not if so many of you corrupted souls have anything to do with it. Keep enabling though, instead of doing the right thing and at least denouncing it.

...How the ufc has a monopsony (because there is way too much ignorance and complacency about the subject on here) and this video not only does a good job describing what it is, it lays out the entire explanation of how the ufc is doing its fighters dirty with their contracts, policies and pay.

A true fan cares about the fighters well being, unlike the ufc and their shills.

Yeah...pff.. right

Listen ,of you dont like to fight then quit

What business is UFC fighter pay of mine? These people willingly sign contracts. If the contract is really that bad, why would you sign it? I’m a fan of the sport. I’m not their agent or their mother.
{<redford}

Lol he makes 250k per fight (after all expenses) and ts is acting like Ngannou is being held hostage in a dungeon somewhere swords & sandals style forced to fight to the death once a week for $12.

Respectfully, shut the fuck up.

You wanna fight injustice? There's much worse shit going on in the world but this is the "fight" you chose. Attention seeking is what this is.

Thank you for My support :)

What injustice are you speaking out over?

That professional athletes you watch on television are signing employment agreements that stipulate they be paid a level of compensation that you personally do not agree with?

You are a real principled guy and definitely not a buffoon who has never worked a day in their life.

<45>
#allstrikesaredumb Get it trending

I know many of you cashews and losers probably never been in the vicinity much less a real life friend of an mma fighter before, that's why you lack basic empathy and compassion for their situation, but is it that hard for you to see it from their eyes?

All you guys parrot over and over again is that they signed a contract, but they aren't being treated like independent contractors, that's the whole thing. They are being treated as employees, and getting paid shit on top of that. I stand by those that at least are speaking up against it, it's not like the ufc doesn't keep 81% of the pie for themselves.

Enough with the speaking and more doing. I better see you on the next live UFC event be it weigh ins or just outside the building holding up signs with your beliefs.

I just enjoy watching fights and the UFC puts out the best product, hope the fighters get a raise but honestly couldn't give a fuck, in fact the top dogs of the divisions fight like once or twice a year making "pennies" can't even imagine how bad it would get if they started making more.
